When the baby grows out of the pebble the familyfix base only takes the pearl forward facing toddler seat not the 2way pearl toddler seat (faces backwards and forwards) so if you want to keep your little one rear facing this familyfix base isn't any use you would need to buy both a new 2wayfix base and the pearl forward facing seat bit when they grow out of the pebble.

With the new iSize regulations / laws if the baby grows out of the pebble before 18 months you still couldn't put them in the forward facing pearl toddler seat which might be a problem. I suspect with iSize the family fix bases will be on the way out, the base gives more leg room with the pebble rearfacing but if your baby is tall or heavy then they may still be to heavy for the seat or tall for the seat before 18 months.

Might be worth considering the 2WayFix base instead which will let you keep all your options open?
That said with this deal you are getting the familyfix for the same price as the easyfix base so perhaps it is giving you the option of getting the forward facing pearl later without getting a new base but the forward facing pearl seat without the base is as expensive if not more so than most isofix forward facing seats so that isn't saving much either.

This isn't an iSize seat though so new laws (rf to 15 months) don't apply - The Pearl can be used from 9kg/9 months if someone is careless enough to want a baby of that age forward facing.

Exactly it isn't iSize so unless you are confident you will be happy to have your baby forward facing when they get too big for the pebble seat (which could be at only12 months), it isn't a saving as this base will only take the forward facing pearl so you wouldn't be using it with the toddler pearl.

It's a good saving plus a possible 4.2% back from Topcashback, but it's not a £70 saving other than at Mothercare. I only checked Amazon where it's £290, it might be cheaper still elsewhere.

I agree that the FamilyFix base is a gimmicky rip-off (as you're then limited to just one seat if you wish to continue using it) but it's highly unlikely that a baby will outgrow the Pebble by 12 months (my 13 mnth old is huge but still fits).

Don't think the familyfix is a gimmick, it's just that it is out of date compared to all the newer options available. I bought mine over 2 years ago and yes that meant I was restricted to buying the forward facing Pearl but it wasn't a problem since my little one could still fit in the pebble past 18 months! I paid less than £250 for the two back then so I don't think this is a good deal.

The old Pebble/family-fix combo should only be considered as a cheap option IMO and this doesn't feel cheap enough taking into the account the restrictions.
