Depends how disciplined you are. It would easy to take the coins back out if it doesnt need to be smashed. The point of "Save and Smash" is that you cant easily take the money back out.

Unless you are a teenager with no money, if one these lives in your house buy a lock box.

Now lets see this, buy a jar for £2.99 and then smash it, keep adding to it for months or years earning no interest on the money in it ?

How is that a good thing ? You would be better off using all your spare change.

Because all those pathetic 1.5% savings accounts, which is way below inflation level, will make you millionaire, especially after you pay tax people their share.. Here at least you've got some nice, shiny coins to look at.

Some cash savings accounts give you an over inflation interest rate if you are prepared to accept limitations on withdrawals (by having a jar that you can only smash to get your money out you are also accepting limitations), although admittedly not much. If you combine this with an ISA allowance, that would make more financial sense.

They usually sell for 10-20 pounds on amazon and the little craft type shops I go to.

where is B and M. x
