Discount from partners programme is usually around the same as the whatcar target price from my research last year...so not all that great tbh.

maybe, but iff you add other dealer discounts plus scrappage, i think its a very good deal.

How is this different
perrys.co.uk/vau…184

Edit may be it is a different model, active and life?

I think it's £9495 for the same model, still better than the 4% with Royal Mail above and it's for everybody.

life is the lowest model, The active has all the goodies (except alloy wheels, but has alloy look wheel trims which actually look ok) including a/c, e/w, ipod input etc.

As I said, it's the active for £9495 net straight, without "partner" deal etc.

difference is that you can get this with any dealer, who you can then negociate the APR you pay on the finance deal:thumbsup:

I these in times I think shopping around and haggling is still your best option. I've been offered an Active 5 door with the fancy Easytronic transmission for just over £9.5K otr which is an additional £850 or so over the scrappage discount. It will be brand new, not pre-registered, on a 59 plate. They will also finance any amount over 30 per cent at 4.5 per cent APR. This from a Vauxhall main dealer. My closest Vauxhall main dealer couldn't have been less interested. As it happens I am in Unison so I might ask about the Partners discount but I can imagine what the answer is going to be.....

Surely there will be better deals on Astra's in a few months when the Gen 6 model will be out?
In my opinion £9000 for a low-end Astra is not a bargain. RRP's for Vauxhall are inflated to make the discounts they offer to fleet buyers look impressive.

Good point!
Also the inflated RRP or list price means that company car drivers have to pay more tax, for example if the list price is 20k and you negotiate it down to 12k you are taxed on a benefit of 20k :w00t: (glad i dont drive a company car!)

Totally agree with JBP... New Astra is out shortly and there are billions of old Astras in field all over the UK as they just aren't selling... bit like the Insignia !

anybody know of any other good cars to get under this scheme?

I registered yesterday and got this email "We will email you shortly to confirm your eligibility. You will then be able to see the range of available offers"
but I havent recieved the 2nd email!

I have been put off by vauxhall dealers, very rude. Even thee cars are not great.

Thats only to get you onto the partners site, not get you the discount, my friend had to show his Royal Mail ID to get it before they reduced the price of the car

That seems dear to the offer i had,£7400 i paid for a new 1.4 active at Dickens Wrexham.
They were offering a discount for the Astra old model 5 door as the design is changing this year.
Plus i had £600 in Gm points (You can have up to £1200 in GM points i think)on top of that as well. Maybe the same offers are still around?
Gav

You can get a brand new VXR8 for £23k if you want one without haggling (RRP 36k)

So it has silver painted plastic wheel trims as opposed to the other car which has plastic wheel trims which are painted silver?

I'd happily pay another grand for that!!!

I went into vauxhall today, they offered me a basic corsa for £10444 - £2000 scrappage, and if I paid 2200 deposist I could get the rest on 0% finace over 42 months!
Anybody think this is any good?
Works out at £153 a month.

It's not always the full list price - my company say the value of my car I'm driving for tax purposes is £8500 whereas the list price is £9650.

They should be using the list price the day before first registration (plus any extras added). Have they just made up the £8,500 figure?

It's a hire car from a large company that has become part of the company fleet for X months - the figure has been supplied as part of the rental agreement. (I'm only working there temporarily, so it's a short term arrangement)

It's a BIG company that I'm working for so their finance department will know what they're doing...
