I've seen someone mention the feta cheese and the 3 for 2 on all the cheeses at tesco, but had to highlight this is a cracking deal - working out at £3 a kg. Many shops have paneer @ £5/6 a kg
Savera is good quality, the type of Paneer I find you get in many resturants, not the rubbery blocks of paneer made by others.
At this price it's not even worth the bother me making it at home
You can freeze this, and get brand match at sainsburys if you can't find enough at tescos

This is great deal. Will check if my local Tesco has stock

This is the best quality paneer you can get in the Supermarkets.

agree best paneer we've tried. great deal!!!

Funnily enough I was looking at this cheese tonight in Tesco.

Is it to be used in solely in cooking or can it be eaten as it is as well?

Looking at google shows recipes as if its a meat substitute or for accompaniments/starters.

lol.....I'm off to Indigo tonight in Leicester for a Diwali meal.

We make a 150 mile round trip from Cambridge just for their Chilli Paneer :-D

There's another place that does more amazing paneer. Try tamarind at the peepul centre!

Agree Tamrind does great paneer dishes, better then the chicken dishes IMO. Whereas we stopped going to Indigo when they short changed me on two occasions, and other friends have also said you have to be careful when they bill you.

Never eaten plain.. it is used as a meat like substitute because of texture and that it soaks up favours. Very popular in Indian cooking. used for starters or mains depending on how its cooked. similar to cottage cheese i believe.

Thanks OP! ..I tried a paneer dish from mr waitrose the other week, it made me think there's another reason to eat less meat, & yes you are corrrect it freezes very well! ..i'd recommend those with taste buds give this a go in a curry type meal as a meat substitute (cut into strips), lovely very satisfying, wish i'd discovered it years ago ..(oh well) X)

Never been shortchanged by Indigo, but I find they keep making their portions smaller! Tamarind on the other hand, eat as much as you like for £10.99. Obviously, we get ripped off on drinks - but it's fine! LOL

Tangoe is good...cheap and big portions!

Thanks OP, never tried paneer before, just picked 3 up from tesco. Getting a bit fed up of chickpea and vegetable curries!

Tescos have upped the price to 1.25 each now..., still a good price, but not as good as it was
