Good one. There have been so many good Scelextric deals lately though I couldn't fit another set in my house. Now with an extension...hmmmmm.

I just want to congratulate you for spelling 'Scalextric' correctly in the title. Seems to challenge a lot of people that one!

Oh the nostalgia! Whatever happened to my original 4.5 litre blower Bentley? Didn't take corners very well but they're worth a lot of money now. It was paired with a Bugatti or Alfa I think - read recently that a mint example went for £3K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i don't get what you do with these things, do you just press one button and hold on to it and so does the other person and then somehow someone wins? Never had one of these, so im not being sarcastic, just interested.

Do you drive a car?
Your right about pressing a button ( it is a trigger ) and harder / tighter you press it in the faster the car goes - like sticking your right leg down on the gas pedal of a car.

However, the skill comes in keeping the car on the track - hit a corner at full speed and your off the track (like driving a car, you lose control and come off the road )

So the challenge comes from driving fast but keeping your car under control on corners etc so it doesnt come off (which will waste a lot of time) - and to slow it down you release the trigger ( like breaking in a car )

Hope that helps understand

Luke

No i don't drive, got a provisional application yesterday though. Thanks for the info, i guess it maybe ok for nephew, but a bit expensive to just press one button as hard as you can, then let go a bit when on corners.
