Very good price for these shoes, normally £64.99. Offer also available in store (possibly need go outdoors discount card for £4... not sure)

Developed from their popular Helix model, Scarpa have produced the Vantage Climbing Shoe to satisfy rock athletes who prefer to spend their savings on climbing rather than equipment.

The full length midsole and full lacing, down to the toe, provide exceptional support for entry level climbers or the more experienced on long mountain routes.

The comfortable last, combined with the synthetic cradle, offers a superb secure fit.

Unmatched SCARPA® workmanship and sticky rubber ensures that the shoe will keep on performing regardless of whether you are after your first pair of rock shoes or looking for quality and value.

This great-value shoe is designed to provide multi-hour comfort, making it perfect as an entry level shoe for first time climbers too.

Hot Hot Hot any decent branded climbing shoe for under £40 deserves some heat.

I use scarpa climbing shoes - they seem to be the only ones that assume I might need my feet again after I've climbed.

Great price.

Good find wonder if there are any more decent offers!

Put this with your shoes & it would give a total of £90 just need some chalk for a few quid. I deal for some one wanting to start the sport.

Yeh you're right... they only have XS, S and L though... I tried on a Wild Country the other day and L was huge (and i'm 6'1" / medium build)... i.e. if you are just starting out, make sure you try one on first

Thats a very good point. I am about a 34+ waist & have a medium WildCountry Elite Ziplock Harness , its a very good fit. Should I spread out a bit more there is still some margin left.

Maybe worth a mention that Rock + Run have some good prices on their clearance stuff - albeit in very limited sizes. (Never any good for me I'm a euro 46 or 47 in climbing shoes)

Good deal, have some Heat

Good deal, paid £55 for mine.

good find but never really understand why people pay more for a chalk bag - at my local wall i see the bags, they all look pretty much identical bar the logos and vary in price on that - never made a lot of sense to me

Heat added simply for the fact there's never climbing gear posted on here! Good spot too, I picked up my Mad Rock climbing shoes from Go Outdoors in the sale for £30 and my friend has these Scarpa ones and they are very good...also more comfortable than mine.

Also suprised to see climbing stuff on here, however this is not the cheapest!

£35 with free p&p only one size mind...

They also have the Rockette (more aggressive ladies shoe) for £45 with plenty of sizes

Its nice to see fellow climbers comments. The reason this stuff isnt common on here is that it has been put on in the past & has been slated with stupid comments being left by the 99p shop club.

Another nice find, however, as you say... size 36 is pretty small I have just bought some of these for myself and I know a friend has them too.. they've very good for this price

Ha Ha - so true. I used to climb and never really found a decent shoe that would leave me able to walk X). By the comments from other climbers these look good.

Lets have some more alternative deals other than the normal DVD's, games etc.

Heat added for the deal and for the fact it's for a climbing product

great find!

I did once get reasonable heat on a cheap harness deal, but more generally you get the pillocks voting cold on stuff they dont understand.

The other thing I wondered about was a group system on here - where you could set up interest groups and then have a 'my interests' tab Should be easy to do and hotdeals can use the idea for the cost of a pint if they want it.:D

Did I read somewhere that your shoe size in climbing shoes should be different from your normal shoe size, I may be wrong?

You're right.

Climbing shoes are worn quite tight - you don't want your foot to be slipping about in the shoe when you're perched on a tiny little bump on the rock 20m up in the air. Before I started climbing I wouldn't have believed that it was possible to stand on some of the things that I now regard as safe. (And I only climb to VS - God knows how the E bods manage).

You really do need to try climbing shoes on because the shapes vary a huge amount. You could say that they fit more like a tight glove than a mitten.
