Interesting... However:
"*Not suitable for monitors designed solely for computer use. (The screen must support a horizontal scan rate of 15.625KHz- most projectors, plasma and LCD panels do whereas CRT monitors dont)"

Nice item if you have the need for it

wondering how it caters for sound? the VGA will be video only so I think you would also need a second connection (if there is one) from the DVD player to the monitor's audio input

Most freeview and dvd sets have 1 white and 1 red audio output ,you can buy a adaptor audio left and right to 3.5 speaker jack.

Will it work on 24 inch LCD monitor??

This is for devices such as projectors that can sync as low as 15.625kHz. Most VGA monitors only go down to 31kHz. Furthermore, if, as I suspect, this is just a passive cable, then the voltage of the sync signals from the SCART source won't be high enough to drive many devices. ]http//ww…tml is probably the kind of thing you would need to convert a composite or S-Video source to VGA or ]http//ww…tml if you want to convert an RGB SCART source.

This item is cheaper on Ebay.

Nope; as I and the original web page said, this cable requires the display can sync down to 15.625kHz horizontal. The spec of the monitor you link to says it only syncs down to 24kHz.

How does my xbox 360 work with a vga cable,it has no problems.

PS2, XBox and XBox 360 (maybe others of this generation and newer too) can natively output VGA.

Your XBox is designed to output the 31KHz signal needed by VGA monitors, DVD players and the like send a 15KHz signal through their SCART sockets and almost all monitors will not work with that. They just don't know what to do with anything slower than 31KHz. Some monitors also won't cope with the 50Hz frame rate of British TV, as VGA starts at 56Hz and goes up from there. Others will accept a 50Hz input but can't actually run the screen at anything but 60Hz so video will be jumpy and jerky due to dropped frames.

The chances of this cable actually working as advertised on any given monitor are very small.

This seems to work via DVI TO HDMI CABLE.

QUALITY MONITOR/TV SETUP, USE AS HD TV ONLY OR TV AND COMPUTER MONITOR SOLUTION. ALL CABLES SUPPLIED READY TO USE.

DELL 2405FPW MONITOR + DELL HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE STAND.

HITACHI HDB73 FREEVIEW BOX with HDMI o/p linking video via hdmi to dvi cable to monitor.

Dell AS500 dell soundbar, clips onto monitor as shown, 14 watts rms power.

Cabling to link audio from freeview box scart to soundbar and also provides additional video input to the monitor on the 'yellow' 'video in' rca connector on the monitor. The video can be selected to come from the 'SCART' or DVI-HDMI cables, DVI-HDMI looks best.

This setup allows you to use Dell 2405fpw as a HD TV as well as a monitor by connecting your computer to the vga port. OR if using the DVI i/p to connect to your computer, select the composite video input on the monitor instead.

You have answered your own question.

To display Freeview or DVDs on a lcd monitor, the monitor must have a digital DVI input and the Freeview box/ DVD player must have an HDMI output. Plus you will need a separate audio system.

So the lead in the deal is of no use as has been said.
