Mate, will this work with anything or just this game?

I wanna get Singstar which Virgin have for £29 (I also have a Virgin CC) but I've had bad experiences with them.

PC World have the same for £39.99!

yes it will work

Thanks to MrBeeks the original poster of this offer

seen it on an earlier post, bought it the day, cheeky bassa at PC World tried to only match the price, had to tell him to take off 10% off Virgin's price :whistling:

If they pricematch and then take off 10% surely thats £26.10 being £2.90 (10% of £29) off £29?

I phoned it in, although the thick English bint took about 10 minutes to understand my Scottish accent and then only put me through to a sales guy who confirmed that they would price match.

Got to the store, went to the collect desk, guy said that'll be £39.99, told him about the price match, said he had no record but to come with him to a terminal and he would check it, 10 mins later, went out the shop with Scene It for £26.10 - result

To avoid confusion it's not 10% off Virgins price, it is 10% of the difference. So if the difference was £10 you'd get an extra £1 off.

ah right ok then strocky so do have to phoen ahead then thanks for ya help

I got mine this morning for £26.10

TBH I don't think you need to phone, but it will prob quicker & easier to reserve & collect as your average numpty at the till would probably have to get their manager involved

Mind and don't fall for them offering a price match - remember your 10% OFF the difference

I've carried this out this morning. I was on the phone for 30 mins as i had to convince them that

a) they actually price match!! as the bloke said it wasn't a company policy!!
b) that they price matched against virgin!!! like it says on the web
c) that the price at virgin was £29 not £29.99!!!
d) that they had to reduce it by a further 10%!
e) that it was free delivery.

So, i got it for £27.89. That's £39.99 original price, £29 at vrigin. 10% off the difference which is £1.11 in this instance.

If you paid less, well done. The policy isn't worded well, but i'll take it for £27.89!

dont do it ive just been on phone with them 40 mins they are all thick as two short planks, gave all details for 4 games pro evo 8 £24.97,lego starwars £29.99 and ratchet and clank £33.98 at amazon, scene it £29.00 at virgin total 117.94 pc world price 114.97 plus price of phone call never again

Did mine yesterday wa son phone for 5 mins, got reference number for store pick, went in got it within 5 mins and paid for £26.99.

Worth it for the 13 quid saving

Just phoned them there and the guy refused to believe that such a thing existed. I argued that it clearly states on the website blah blah blah. He went away came back and said they would price match so I reminded him of the 10% he refused point blank to give me 10%.

Off to the PC world store to get the one I've reserved. Why employ muppets who don't know the company policy, saying that he sounded as though he was in a call centre in a foreign country.

]saynoto0870.com will give you the geo number, thus costing you nowt. :-D

i phoned up the top geo number and askde to get put through to sales - joined the usual automated service and then had my 40 min call mentioned above.

I don't think you need to bother phoning ahead at all. I did and they were great, but when I went to pick it up in Colchester it had as expected the full price. The price paid is on pick up not reservation. Anyway, I went to pay, mentioned to the chap that I wanted to price match on a Virgin offer and he took me to the till and they knew of it already and I got it at the reduced price with 10% off. Must say, never liked PC World in the past, but recent dealings with Colchester on this and the 2 for £60 offer has changed my mind. Both times I went in with a heated discussion planned and they gave me the reduction without questioning anything.
1 rather inportant thing to bear in mind and those of us who have got this are lucky. The PC World site states the item must be in stock. It isn't at Virgin, hasn't been for a few days. It's on 1 to 2 day delivery.

Brilliant deal will go down there later!

Bit harsh calling staff numptys though alot of the staff in PC World are pretty untrained and uneducated regarding the field, its hardly there fault they just have to earn a living.

Ull find its standard procedure in retail stores to expect staff to be unable to mark down items without managerial consent so hardly worth blaming them

Defo tempted by this....next time I go into town I will just go in and see if I can get it at the cheaper price, no phone call

I just phoned up (was on for 20 mins) and could only get it for £28.49.

They took 10% of the difference between virgin (£29) and their web price (£34.99).

Im guessing if you do in store pick up you could argue for the difference between £29 and £39.99 (instore price), I got mine delivered which they did match Virgin on this so was sent for free.

Well done to everyone who got it for £26 but I think they might be wise to it now.

I just went in the PC World in Kingston today with a printout from the website and from the Virgin website and asked if they will price match and they did. So you don't even have to ring the number first.
