The Schwalbe Marathon Plus Bike Tyre has fabulous puncture protection yet it only adds a teeny tiny amount of weight - tests by Schwalbe have shown that even a drawing pin can't get a hold in the tyre. To top that off, all Schwalbe Marathon Bike Tyres boast an 'endurance compound' making them really hard-wearing.Schwalbe Marathon Plus Bike Tyre - 700c x 38c

Cyclists are taxpayers too.. I prefer riding on roads so I can speed past all the numptys stuck in traffic.
This is the tyre I fit to all my bikes in varying sizes. 6 years of daily commuting 12 miles and only one puncture in all that time.
For me it's a no brainer purchase.

GREAT PRICE!!! HOT HOT HOT!!!

Had them on my previous 29er and they're amazing on the road and very robust. Highly recommended.

Tank tracks for your bike
Great price! Bit of a nightmare to fit but you shouldn't need to remove them much, only one puncture on 25mm versions on my road bike over 2000 miles

They're great, i've done around 15000 miles on road and no puncture!
Outstanding deal, that's winter sort
Will they fit the wheels with original 700x30c tyres as i'm thinking of replacing my wifes old tyres?
My size too.
How's the handling on these? Due to the rigidity I read they feel a bit wooden? The marathon supreme hd I have seem very nice and grippy but not much in the way of puncture protection.
Cracking price, although i prefer the slightly less puncture resistant Greenguard as they're lighter and easier to fit.
Fantastic tyre, use it on my commute to work and back, been well over 8 months since I had a puncture, life saver especially in the winter months.

The diameter will be fine, as will the width probably when regarding the wheels. The issue will be whether there is enough space to fit them between the frame stays and fork blades.

Nice, TopCashback is slightly higher on Halfords though so a little saving sticking to Halfords if going through TCB.

They're preatty wide so it should be fine, thanks.

Yes, but for some reason you can only order 1 tyre...
Was thinking of buying a pair of these for my cyclo-cross bike, at this price I can’t put it off anymore. Might be a little too wide, but should fit.

correct, done reservation at halfords. Thanks Op

In my experience albeit on 25mm the ride is a bit harsh as you would expect and a bit slow to get going due to the weight. Fine braking but around corners especially in the wet they slide easily, came off once and had a couple of hairy moments that my old Gatorskins would have taken easily.

Getting them on at least for the 25s is a total PITA. The best way I have found to do it is to cable tie the tyre to the wheel as you go round then cut the cable ties off afterwards, that way it is a five minute job.

Overall I'm not really a fan of them, too many stupid drivers who do bad overtakes, slam on the brakes and loads of idiotic pinch points installed by the council which just increase conflict. I guess with these it adds s few metres to your stopping distance which maybe a few metres too many.

However, the roads here are terrible and plenty of stupid chavs smashing glass bottles. I was getting a lot of punctures with Gatorskins so these are the only realistic option.

Ideal for E bikes
My back wheel nuts needs to be tightened to 40Nm so getting them off on the roadside would be some achievement better to try and decrease the odds of a puncture.
I was just looking at these yesterday, but the 32C version to replace my 45C knobbly tyres that are really slow on the road. I ride 75% road and tarmac, but 25% trail on my commute. Can anyone recommend whether these are OK instead or should I get thinner tyres?
Fantastic tyres!

I paid £23 for one! Bought in February 2017 where it joined the other marathon plus. Yet to have a puncture in either one! That's about 6000 miles on pretty awful, gravely cycle paths.

Never the less I've reserved 2 & will get them for £18 with my work gift card

PS as already stated they are a sod to get on! Good job punctures are very rare

+1 - great tyres...

But unfortunately also +1 - they're ridiculously fiddly to get on.
A nightmare to get on at first but had no punctures after 9 months.

Agree good price. I ran these on my mountain bike when commuting for several years with I think only one puncture.

The thing to note is the weight. They're nearly a kilo a tyre, which is a lot.

They are a beast to fit too. Love the advice added elsewhere.
Killer price, tempted, but have run Schwalbe Energiser Plus tyres on my ebike for the last 3 years. 9000 miles, and only 2 punctures, but great grip in dry and wet and cold conditions, along with very low rolling resistance.
Reports of low grip in cold wet conditions worries me, so might stick with my energisers
Had to bite at that price. Going to put them on a bike that I use in the dry only and already have them on two commuting bikes. I have to say that I've never noticed a problem with grip in the wet myself but perhaps I'm just too sedate a rider.

Hopefully another £3 off for using click-and-collect via TopCashBack too.
mad cheap ta 🚲

What is the tyre size of an average hybrid bike? In particular, the standard Ridgeback hybrids?
I thought they were wheelchair tyres for a sec. Mine look the exact same! Same brand I think.
Great tyres. I have the Schwalbe Marathon standard tyres on my foldy and they are great on road and on gravel tracks. Puncture resistance is very good and at this price an absolutely steal. And yes, they are a real pig to fit - very tight - but worth it.

Put these on a commuter bike and they seem indestructible. Like riding on treacle, though.

If you find them a pig to fit, you must have the Marathon Plus, same as in this deal.
The Marathon standard tyres are the Greenguard and aren't that hard to fit.
Great tyre, had mine for years. Are tricky to fit but you should only have to do that once as punctures will rarely happen. Commuted across London for years with these...
dont forget to use code CYCLING15 to get 15% off each tyre ( £1.50 each tyre ) & then BC if you have it when you collect gets another 10% off too ( so my ordered pair should be down around the £15.29 mark when collected.)

dont know how long the code will stay working but it was a few moments ago. ( may expire today - 5/7/19 but who knows as i am sure the code said it expired yesterday when i last looked lol )

The 20” green guard are.
Thanks ordered 2
Sorry for what might be a silly question. What size are these in inches?
designaw05/07/2019 21:09

The 20” green guard are.

I see, never fitted em to 20" wheels.
Still, you shouldn't have to take em off much with level 5 pp.
I had these. Bomb proof but gave a super hard ride. I've swapped then out for their big apples and they are great
