Quite a bit more heavy for the weight weenie though. I can highly recommend the folding rubino Pro control tyres in 28mm from merlin which were 11.99 each. Great balance of comfort, relative speed and protection. I can wholly not recommend rubino Pro gen 1 which cut easily and puncture when they see a small piece of hardcore....

Just providing a cheaper alternative with the Schwalbe for those who want that model. But I agree with your recommendation.

What do you think the wired addix would be like on gravel track or similar, more robust than the rubino control? Just switched out an older road bike for 1x and she might like some new shoes...

No idea as not used them. Could use this as a comparison bicyclerollingresistance.com/roa…016
Schwalbe One Vguard tyres are my first choice. I use them all year round with latex tubes. The rolling resistance is a bit worse on these tyres but still a very good price.
Are the wired versions just more difficult to put on/take off?

Not sure about that but they're heavier is the stand out disadvantage for me.

Ok. Luckily I am not fast enough to be bothered about weight in the slightest.
