Scotch Pop-Up Tape Strips And Dispenser Tesco offer 2 for £3. Sticker price of £2.25 in store and on line. tesco.com/gro…793

but glitch at in-store checkout (barcode goof up on system as products on shelves have another bar code) so charges £2.00 each so got billed £4 for two instead of £3.

So asked customer service for refund. Initially they denied it was on offer! So showed them the stickers on the usual stationery shelves and the separate offer shelves. Then they gave me back only £1 (the difference). but I said since it was a misprice on the bill I should be getting back double the extra charged as per their policy. The lady initially said cant do that as product has different barcode but I said not my fault that their systems have the wrong barcode, so they finally gave me £2 back and so i paid £2 for two of them which is more than 50% discount.

Charged £2.00 x 2= £4.0
should have been each for £2.25 but on offer 2 for £3.0
Misprice overcharged £1.0
Double misprice refunded total £2.0
total Bill $4.0 - £2-0 = £2.0 for 2 of them. ie got them for £1 each.

Anyone needing to pack gifts might find the offer useful. They still havent bothered to change the labels in store when i left a few minutes ago. Dont know if they sorted the barcode goofups though.

Dont know how to edit the title. The system actually charges £2 each instead of £2.25 as mentioned in the title. But the calculations are right at the end of the post.

PLEASE NOTE instore only as barcode goofup on store system.

edit: figured out hw to edit the title

It might not be for you but ....
The product on the deal is supposed to cost £3 for 2 so £1.50 each but because of barcode goof up on systems after refund it costs £1 each thats a further 33% discount. 33% further discount after the offer is a deal in my eyes.

Good idea. Sounds very useful when driving kids to party, no tape dispenser or scissors to hold when perfecting that creased edge (especially when your driving) oO

A lot of effort to save a couple of quid (minimum wage anyone?) but if you think it's worth it, then it's worth it.

I was buying the product anyway as cant be bothered cutting tape for loads of presents, the savings was just a bonus. Worth it only if you were buying the product anyway even without the deal. Otherwise I agree too much hassle for 2£ savings.
