These shortbread biscuits are crumbly and truly lovely!!!

The 200g boxes are currently buy one get one free at Marks and Spencer, so it works out as 400g for £2.

The expiry date on the ones I saw was Jan 2018.

Also, check your Sparks offers, you might have a £1 off £5 biscuit spend voucher, if you fancy buying a few!

Go Fatty, it's your birthday! You're gonna eat shortbread like it's your birthday!

"HOMEBAKED taste" - with HOMEBAKED IN CAPITALS, shouting it at you from the box! - Mass produced in a factory, probably in Coventry or somewhere else nowhere near Scotland.

Bought a couple... Thank you

Exactly, it's all about the phrasing. 'Homebake style' and 'homebaked taste' shows that in no way have these been anywhere closer to a kitchen than your own.

Lidl do a shortbread finger at 49p for 210g ie better than half this price and they are excellent quality.

I'd second that - the Lidl version is also all butter, and almost identical to the M&S version at a fraction of the price. It tastes exactly the same - just a different shape. M&S shortbread is good - but no better than the Lidl version. What M&S is good at, though, is persuading their customers to overpay for products that can be had elsewhere for a lot less.

Likewise the M&S Stilton - comes from the same creamery as, and identical to, the Aldi Stilton.
