Tablet! Probably nothing like my Gran's, but tablet.

Many packets will have to be bought!
I'm a Scot that's lived in London for more than 25 years and just recently moved back. Found the 'Scottish specials' in the local Tesco Extra that took me back to my childhood - plain loaf, proper rolls that aren't sweet like English ones, snowballs, fruit slices, empire buns, iced gingerbread, Lorne sausage, Scotch pies. Nothing healthy but great comfort food.

Heat for the tablet!
It's the simple pleasures in life...
Ok, I'll be the first to show my ignorance. What's a tablet? I'm guessing it's not 1000mg Cod Liver Oil high in omega 3?

Tablet is like fudge only a bit harder. If made correctly it is a delicious melt in the mouth sugary treat.

Bag of sugar, melted with some condensed milk, bit of vanilla essence and thats about it..............you'd probably only like it if you have a sweet tooth
Tiffin and pecan slices - those well known Scottish delicacies. oO

Don' think I saw a pecan nut in Scotland til about 20 yrs ago when a local deli did pecan pie, lol.
Wot, no Buckie?
Tablet and haggis for me, and I'm not Scottish in the slightest!
Might need to change my name!
I think Alex Salmon is putting a £1 Tax on tablet and haggis, not sure about why this occurs in tablet but in Haggis I think it is to do with the amount of water the average Haggis drinks
Voted hot for using Stoatin in the title-superb

Those tins of Tennents take me back to my childhood. I remember my Dad drinking those! What a blast from the past!
Need to find somewhere that sells MacSweens Haggis in Devon. Anything else is just sludge.
Mrs Tilly's tablet that some Tesco stores sells is the closest thing to homemade tablet that I've been able to buy. I Think it's made in Tillicoultry, they also do macaroon bars Mmmm.
Where's the square sausage??
