Good price if you already have the gateway. is there any other way to control these plugs such as a raspberry pi?

Thanks for the info using a raspberry pi is certainly the cheaper way to control these plugs and much more fun if you enjoy playing with gadgets. Tempted by this now!

Usual price. You can get them on Amazon for similar price most of time

These are brilliant - I have all the table lamps plugged in to them in the sitting room so can control them all with the remote without getting up from the sofa!

I've got my xmas lights on remote switches... got 5 from amazon for £20 and they're awesome turns on upstairs and even in the shed from my living room and no gateway needed

Check your local Currys Pc world I got three for a £4.97.

Currently the cheapest way to get a bit of IoT in your house. I have this setup with the pi board and 4 of the above sockets and love it. Use the remote at home and when away turn off and on lamps via a VPN tunnel. A lot of ground work has been done by various people so it is not too bad to get it working if you don't mind tinkering with it for a while.

Some things worth knowing are:
Theoretically somebody could sniff the RF signals and get the codes sent out then turn off or on your sockets.
You cannot query the sockets to tell if they are on or off so this is not for mission critical stuff.
You can't go past 4 sockets with this board but people have manged to get status and other brand remote sockets working (so you may be able to use them too)

From my multiple experiences the after-sales support has been great, they are quick to respond and have always been very helpful with my queries.

You can purchase a board which does support querying and power consumption information below:

This does need different sockets and obviously costs more.

Sadly I've found these to not last long. Despite repeated battery replacements, they regularly fail to connect to the transmitter. Same with the similar ones from 7Dayshop. Only ones I've found that work long term are WiFi.

If it's not smart and can hook up to Amazon Echo, it feels a bit last century.

The 97p indicates clearance if I recall correctly so likely to be limited stock, but you got a good deal!

I got 2 of these for 7.99 in home base (the control can add up to 6 plugs)

sure you can get these from morrisons I got a pack ages ago 4 for a£5 never used them yet ,but then again these are for lazy people to lazy to bend down i`m to lazy to even plug them in lol.

They are far more useful than to save you bending down.
They are invaluable for garden electrics, when the power supply is safely out of the way.

they will hook up to Amazon echo with the addition of a Broadlink RM Pro hub and android bridge software running on a phone or tablet

Anyone looking at these for home automation:

These are the 'dumb' ENER002 sockets, controlled via the RF remote or with the pi-hat. (or indeed via other methods).
If you're using the Pi, buy the ENER314-RT not the ENER314 as it allows integration with the smarter sockets they offer, and more importantly, allows more than 4 sockets to be controlled from the 1 device.
