Out of interest, why is that? My central heating system installed 20 years ago uses 8mm microbore. It was the 'in thing' then as uses less water in system. Why has it fallen out of favour?

I think it is to do with the natural 'Furring up' of the pipes. A bit like Angina.

I actually have half my system in 10mm (Upstairs) which works fine.

I agree with regard to Microbore pipe benders, they're simply not required. ANYONE can make a simple bend in Microbore using their hands. However, as a qualified Gas Engineer I'd love to know what your experience/qualification is to make claims that Microbore is a thing of the past. Would you like to expand on that....?
