I got a fantastic 'automatic' type corkscrew for Christmas a couple of years ago - just as most wines moved to screw caps!

Good price for a semi-redundant object.

£3.74 is a great bargain... despite I haven't used mine for a while :P

Just ordered for Xmas presents, but was limited to 5. Thanks for the tip. Heat added

Now showing at £19.86

Back up in price - a real shame, was going to get a few as presents. They are really good.

In my price range anyway - up to about £12. You try finding a NZ Sauv Blanc with a cork. Screw caps so much better anyway - more reliable and easier to open!

There are also wines closer by, think France, Italy, Spain.... where quality wines rarely come with screw caps (allthough in fairness there are exceptions).

Old world supporting their struggling cork industries - they'll catch up (eventually), just like they've been forced into varietal labelling. Thanks to our supermarkets wines are no longer just a (wine) snob's drink. The British know more about wine than the French these days.

I understand up to 20% of some wines are 'corked'.
