Gorgeous controller
With Load Testing finishing tomorrow and a month before game is released i wonder if retailers will be happy to sit on Controller stocks for so long before contemplating moving them out at a lower price.

Considering even special edition controllers are on sale for months/years, I doubt its going to go down in price any time soon, especially with the hype around the release.
Surprised both Amazon and Argos increased their prices to full retail overnight

I’m thinking this isn’t so “limited edition” as people are making out. I reckon £40 in a few months once all the sot hype has died down.

Its not, game had what looked like 50 behind the counter.... will be £40 soon enough but i hate waiting so 55 was ok for me
Good looking controller but I call bull on being that limited, I'll buy when it's 40 or I'll let this ship sail.
So even though this is the cheapest price going and therefore a good deal at this point in time people are voting cold because it theoretically might be cheaper in the future. So is this HotUKDeals time machine logic I keep seeing!

True, MS said the Xbox One X Scorpio Edition was sold out, yet you could still buy it from Amazon in January
Why is this cold it's the cheapest price it's been as far as I'm aware.

I'd regard the removable battery as a plus. Source for it costing $15?

Deals can be unexpired though? I don't see the point in two identical posts for the same deal myself.

au.ign.com/art…ps4

Breakdown of the entire console costs - inc. joypad

Got PS4 & Xbox One - the rechargeable feature for Sony's console is brilliant - the amount of times batteries have died in the Xbox controller, rechargeable batteries not charged or missing and the rechargeable 3rd party battery pack just dead is frustrating.

Never had a dead PS rechargeable joypad to date AND you can pick up a PS4 v2 joypad for approx. £37.

This maybe a good deal for Xbox joypads but for what you get the price is extortionate - if we keep paying these prices they will keep charging.

Dont get me wrong tho - I prefer the Xbox One X over my PS4 due to the backward compatibility feature - just the joypads are a pain at that price and the lack of recharging

That wouldn't be fair on the new poster. As it went OOS then it's a legitimate new deal.

Interesting, though they'd have to make up for the cost of R&D too I guess. Yeah I agree £55 is too much (for any controller, including the Switch Pro), I think ~£40 should be the standard price regardless of paint job.
I just bought the v2 for £37 :), but I'd just personally prefer the flexibility & longevity of the Xbox controller.
Mine arrived for £54.99 from Amazon, ordered yesterday. Got the £3 voucher from vouchercodes too now I hope. I don't have an xbox but this game has me hyped and I might either get an xbox or play on pc

Xbox one came out in 2013 - its the same joypad - the R&D invested in this have been paid back a long time ago thus with that being said the joypad should now be cheaper not more.

When it came out in 2013 it was $60 so they have maintained that price since which equates to £42.77

If you add 20% tax its £51.31 but the standard joypad is priced in the UK at £59.99 so that means we are paying 40% on top.

Then we change the colour and officially this joypad is £64.99 and everyone has a meltdown and rushes out to buy it.

I know this can be applied to just about everything that is sold here but I'm just focusing on this accessory as feel it is way overpriced even at a discounted price.

Just saying when we start to buy consciously retailers will have no choice but to reduce prices until then they have absolutely no reason to when people rush out to buy BEFORE the game has been released AND even owning a console.

But Hey! When did facts ever change anything? Thats how Trump won right? (Yeah I went there!)

You, of all people, should have given up pondering this question!

It's because it's not on the remaindered shelf in Tesco.
Just a note, simplygames sent mine through the post in just a plastic bag. So it came pretty beat up.

If you’re buying this to add to a collection and intend to keep the box/packaging then maybe avoid. If you’re just going to use it etc and don’t care about collecting, then it’s not as much of an issue.
That's not good; I hope mine arrives in one piece. I've just printed my MS return label and it's already boxed and ready to go back. Ordered from here. £10 saving is

That's upsetting to read. Trying to cancel my order. I hate sites were you can't cancel your order shortly after placing it without going through customer service.

Simply Games have form for pony packaging so seeing this most gorgeous controller in years was available for 55 quid click n collect on fast track/reservation from Argos the other day why would you not have done that instead?

I reckon theyre banking on making their money from the controller sales and increase in game pass subs rather than the game. So guessong price will stay static.

Because I live abroad and Argos don't ship internationally (obviously click n collect is no good either).

By buying a pad for £37? Well I appreciate your enthusiasm for the cause anyway :). I can't remember the cost but MS sunk a silly amount of money into the redesign of the XB1 pad, though not saying that justifies the £55 price.
I'm not exactly one for pre-orders etc., totally with you on trying to restrain ourselves from paying over the odds to retailers. I treat the Switch deals the same as I treat the PS4/XB1 deals for example, I don't abide by the Nintendo tax :).

Where are you? I lived in Austria for around 3 years so I can relate to that issue. There were things I wanted that were cheaper from the UK but not always and unfortunately things did arrive damaged whilst others that just went walkies in the post.

Zavvi were the worst as they used the Dutch postal service and everything goes through the Schiedam hub, absolute khazi with 100's of temps from the dole queues of Rotterdam working there

I live in Portugal. IT and gaming stuff is quite expensive over here in general. I was wanting to order the controller from Amazon, but they take 6£ for shipping, which is just crazy. Zavvi is crap! They already don't ship to a few EU destinations anymore.

Does anybody know how simplygames are handling cancellations? Haven't heard back from them. Some of these dealers are cheeky and claim they can't cancel and ship it anyway, stating that you can return it, but hope that you keep it in the end because of the hassle of sending it back.

Surely amazon.es is your 'local' operation so I'm very surprised to hear they charge that much delivery. In Austria amazon.de was the home branch and delivery was free on purchases over about 25€.

I see this SoT controller on Spanish Amazon for 60 Euro when I was noseying about for a decent price on it a few weeks ago.

That looks beautiful but I just cant warrant £55 for a controller when my boring old black one works just fine ................ although if it were to come down in price
