seagate 1TB Portable USB 3.0 Hard drive only £27.50 @ Sainsburys in store

Found 15th May 2015
while on the hunt for the desktop hard drive that had been posted on here in Sainsburys (I didn't find one) I saw they had this on clearance for £27.50.

As this one doesn't need an external power supply it's much more convenient for me in particular.

will post a pic of barcode in comments so that people can call local stores to find stock (Had a fair few in Harlow of anyone is nearby)

A guy on my other deal said the PS4 is problematic with support but working on the Xbox One

If it's a 2.5 inch drive inside you can crack it open and put the drive inside your PS4. Otherwise you would need to run a USB to SATA cable from the drive to the inside of your PS4. For games anyway.

The PS4 would read other stuff from a USB drive but you can't use it for games etc. unlike Wii U and XB1.

None in Exeter Alphington for anyone wondering. Had a look earlier today following yesterday's deal post, but no hard drive offers at all.

That depends on the internal connector. Which is what I assume the original comment was about. Some of these type of drives don't have standard SATA connectors on them.

Ahh. Cheers. I stand corrected

Managed to pick up 2 1tb drives a few weeks back, when they first came up. But I was given the run around before I managed to secure them. Forget ordering on-line, as it bares absolutely no resemblance to stock availability. Don't be supprised if your order gets cancelled on-line. Utterly useless system in my opinion, check your local store!

Got one scanned in Colton and still at £50.

Works well, should have got 2,

Release the Geese :-)

Thanks OP great find !! just secured 2 of these. Upgrade TIME !!!

YES. This is the drive I used to upgrade my ps4. I even put the 500gb back into the enclosure. Easy done, guides on YouTube.

showing as £50 in my local Sainsburys , vancouver quarter , kings lynn.

None in the Winnersh branch, all full price. The SD cards and microSD's are reduced though so it seems they have half the clearance on at the moment

Thanks very much!

Anyone know if they are Mac compatible?

None in Wrexham, but lots of 500GB ones for £15.

PC using USB3, but backward compatible with USB2 for those supporting it. Works well but slow on my tablet using USB2

Every hdd is Mac compatible...... Is just pre-formatted that's all.

I went to 2 sainsburys yesterday and I didnt see any hard drives both local to maidstone kent so peeeed of

Rung my local Sainsbury's (East Prescot Road) and was told they had 3 left. Went down to the store, the store assistant obviously hadn't listened to a word I had said on the phone as they were the wrong make and also full price.

I got one in Glasgow . great price

Got hugely excited when there were two on the shelf in the Hull Sainsburys, since I need one for both my PS4 & XB1.. Sadly, they scan at £50 each. Hugely disappointed

i was about to reply saying that i thought the ps4 can now take up to 2tb hard drives via usb but after trying to find the right info ive come to the realisation that its only for back up to transfer to another ps4, pretty stupid but my search for a cheap 2tb for my consoles have been halved now lol only get one for my xbox 360 now lol

i have changed the exact hard drive as this deal, just take the casing off, swap around, you can use the old hard drive in a pc or your ps3 if you have one as well

Wycombe had two on the shelf today. Took them both the case to the kiosk and no stock in the back. They wanted 90 quid for 4TB. 1 instock if anyone missed out.
