That's tempting to stick in the TV for recording off since it's USB powered...
Not sure I'd pay for the"expert installation" though... 😁

The expert installation option is a complete joke. I bet no one uses it except for the occasional 100 year old.
Ideal for upgrading your ps4

The installation is more than the HDD..
I could actually do with something about half price of this, anyone know a decent one? £25-ish?
I expect only 1tb or 500gb if cheaper...

You'll be lucky to get a 1tb but after a very quick look I've found a 500gb for just under £30

That's about all I coul find really, I'd be better off just stumping up the £50 or going for that WD recertified one at £35..

Yes, that's my only real option for a decent brand buty cheapskate budget, just not convinced because of the amount of refurbs that WD do, why such a large supply of refurbs?

Telling, I fitted one of these to mine. Sorry for the confusion but there was no question mark.

Internal or external fitting to PS4 ?
Internal
Is it a 2.5" drive?
What's the writing speed?
Lovely. 7.5mm thickness?

Lovely. 7.5mm thickness?

would be either 7mm or 9.5mm surely and more likely to be 9.5 as whole thing is 12mm

Yes it's really simple, you just gently take the enclosure apart and unplug the hard drive from the inside. Some other portable drives have soldered connections, this one doesn't. I used this very drive to upgrade my ps4. You can then put your old ps4 drive in the enclosure and use it as a portable drive.
1. Backup your game saves.
2. Fit the new drive.
3. Download the full system file (approx. 1gb) from the PlayStation website.
4. Create a folder on a usb drive called PS4 and inside that folder create another folder called UPDATE and put the downloaded file in the UPDATE folder.
5. Plug the usb drive in to your ps4.
6. Boot the ps4 and follow onscreen instructions.
Hope this helps.
