Seagate external desktop drives provide extra storage for your ever-growing collection of files. Add space for more files instantly, consolidate all of your files to a single location, or free up space on your computer’s internal drive for improved performance.
Setup is straightforward: simply plug in the included power supply and USB cable, and you are ready to go. It is automatically recognised by Windows operating system, so there is no software to install and nothing to configure. Saving files is easy, too: just drag-and-drop.

Not only is it easy to use, but it is also fast and energy efficient. Enjoy fast data transfer speed with USB 2.0 connectivity and 7,200-RPM drive performance. Built-in power management ensures energy-efficient operation.

Quality and reliability are key. Seagate has delivered proven, reliable storage solutions for over 30 years. As of 2008, Seagate has shipped over one billion hard drives. Seagate continues to stand behind its quality by including a 2-year limited warranty.

But the amount of reviewers on Amazon saying they got the click of death after a short period of time doesn't provide a lot of confidence in the product...

Best brand you will ever buy. I have had many HDDs in my time and never had a fail from a Seagate drive.

Must admit I nearly clicked the buy button till I checked those reviews, got a 250gb Seagate expansion which is doing exactly this after 3 weeks, so I'll skip I think, sounds like it's an issue with the arm hitting the case internally as opposed to a disc problem in itself - but hey, what do I know, skip I think.

bought about 10-12 of them over the past year and not had one go wrong in the time i had them or passed them on to other people... if i had i would have left a bad review

theres more good than bad reviews and you need to consider people mostly only leave a review if it's bad...

£89 for a couple of TB's surely cant be good...

Well I have last month. Bought an identical drive and stripped it down to add the platters from the failed drive. Worked a treat. Drive failure not as bad as it seems.
