You're right but I had a 1TB Transcend USB3 external drive for Xbox One that worked fine on that but when I reformatted it and used it for my PS4 Pro I keep getting annoying loading pauses during gameplay so not sure what's up with that!

This is an sshd isn't it? Like the firecuda drives?

The only possible 'designed for PS4' feature I can think of other than the packaging/colour scheme is that it might come pre-formatted in exFAT rather than NTFS. Certainly not worth this price just for that!

Nope, just a bog standard 5,400rpm 2.5" drive. You can be damn sure that 'SSHD' or 'hybrid drive' would be plastered all over the title and description if that were the case!

BTW I have a 1TB Toshiba H200 hybrid drive (8GB NAND flash memory) in my PS4 and I must confess, it seems to have made very little difference. Got it for just under £30 2 years ago though so not gonna complain!

Yeah I just checked, I remember being confused about this before because the 1tb version of this drive definitely is an sshd. I bought the 2tb firecuda myself and I am fairly pleased with it.

I personally don't mind paying a little bit extra for the colour scheme. The green version looks nice sitting on top of my Xbox and it is a one off buy, something I will probably own for the rest of my life!

No point, you will void the usb drive guarantee and only gain 1 or 1.5 terrabyte as you lose the current internal drive space.

Except you are not paying the 200-300% price premium for the privilege.

Picked up a 4TB WD MyPassport for £99 the other week from Amazon, they're still that price. £25 extra to double the capacity makes sense to me. Got it as I've only got 300GB left on my PS4 Pro's 2TB external drive and I will either use it in that or with the Xbox One X I've not quite justifed to myself yet

Cold, this is just standard price for a 2TB

I have the 1TB version of this (actually I have two, one for Xbox and one for the PS4 Pro) both are 5,400rpm USB 3.0 hard drives. You would have pay several times more than 70 quid for a true 2TB SSD, and the benefits would be a waste of money (a couple of seconds faster loading times is all you'd get). The Firecuda isn't a true SSD either mind, it's a SSHD.

Don't let that put you off though, these hard drives are excellent. Noticeably faster than the internal HD on the consoles, and a couple of games actually perform better with it on the X1.
