Yes. I have the 3TB version and it works perfectly.

Just note, these larger hard drives will also need to be plugged into the mains as well as the XB1, so you'll need at least one free plug socket.

coupon is only for first orders, COLD!

Shame I would have bought one

I was thinking the same. Looking at the spec on Amazon it appears to be desktop at just above a Kilo in weight. Tesco states 1kg. The portable on Amazon is just above 300g. Also the portable is only USB 2.0 whilst the desktop is both 2.0 cable and 3.0 cable. The spec on Seagate shows as desktop with a power adaptor.

25quid/TB. I approve.

Every "deal" ever found at tesco is made to appear better than it is by bolting on the old "new customer code". No deal here. Cold.

This is not portable one, it will need to be connected to electric plug. Beware, I think.

is this usb powered?

ordered for xbox one after making new account which takes err 2 minutes :P great price imo

Seems a little dishonest. 2 minutes to open a new account = eternity in hell.

How did you get this hard drive for £25?

Ger73

How did you get this hard drive for £25?

1TB = £25
1TB = £25

1TB+1TB = 2TB = £50

Hence £25 per TB on a 2TB drive

Then you would have loved the 2TB Toshiba Tescos had for £16.50

In the bag Thank you ! Look elsewhere before purchase, couldn't get close. A little saving on Top Cashback too and the £10 off voucher worked a dream..... I nearly contemplated using some of my Tesco Clubcard Point vouchers but thought they'd be better at Goldsmiths X 3.

Thanks once again

Yes, but that was for like 6 HDD's in the whole country. At this 'normal' price, I suspect Tesco are going to have considerably more stock.

Will this work with my Mac?

Yes

Depends how old your Mac is. Intel and Apple cooked up Thunderbolt as the successor to USB2.

When that didn't pan out, Apple introduced USB3 to the 2013 Mac Pro line. If your machine is older than 2013, you'll be limited to USB2 speed - which is very slow (about 10% of the speed of USB3).

Kinda what I was thinking too? lool. :-)

Its a 3.5 Inch Hard Drive in there, & not a 2.5 Inch Hard Drive .. if that answers the question/s ..... lol. :-)

That was only available to Tesco Spivs - i.e. people who promote Tesco deals on this site. You get a special card that you show at the checkout and then you get like 75% off the shelf price. You are then expected to come on here and post about it.

Other Spivs go into their local stores, present their cards and get the goods for the same price.

Unless you've actually got one of these Spiv Cards, you're wasting your time looking for these offers.

Is this is 7200rpm?

Not really a deal this is it? The drive is £60 everywhere and the code works for all new customers for anything. You could've posted a microwave and applied the same 'deal'.

To clarify, this is a 3.5 inch portable. No power cable provided, just a 4 foot USB 3 - same as the one at Argos and Dabs.

You ordered and received it? Tesco web page is not clear. In the picture it looks too thick to be portable.
Edit:
Portable meaning USB powered ie. This seems mains powered.

Its the desktop version, it may be portable, but it isn't the "portable version" . its portable in the same way a brick is portable.

you can see on this link that you can switch between the portable and desktop version of the expansion drive.
