Seagate 2TB USB 3.0 portable 2.5 HDD PS4 Upgrade £60 @ Amazon

87
Found 17th Nov 2014
Bought this for my new PS4, hard drive upgrade, the 500GB is just not big enough with games taking 50GB each on average.

it actually a lot cheaper than buying OEM 2.5 inch hard drive.
Does not void PS4 warranty, and fairly easy to do.

Guide on how to do it:

Edit:
Note: This is not to be confused with the 3.5 inch HDDs selling at £50, these are 2.5', the 3.5 Inch HDDs will not fit PS4 or Laptops. They also require external power supply to run.

Back order is for Friday this week, which is not far. If you can't wait, there is a seller seller selling these at £61 instock.

Can these fit in a laptop?

I got one from Argos with topcashback for just over £61 the other week. Easyish install for PS4 so hot deal for sure.

These will fit any laptop, they are thin profile 2.5 inch, pretty much will fit any laptop with removable HDD

has the Amazon can been lifted then?

Nice

Pretty sure the ban has been lifted, did they have a can too? I hope it was peas or something horrible.
If it was sliced pears, that would be a tragedy.

Ive put this in my PS4 and find it slower than the one that comes with it (or not as smooth)

For example now when fifas loading the mini games are a bit juttery dint have this with stock. . Not sure theres anything I can do about it I guess its not a major issue.

Also make sure all your saves are properly backed up online before you do the upgrade (obvious I know) I found my Fifa saves had not uploaded online for a few weeks for some reason and theres no going back once you've swapped, as it will only accept the stock drive back if you format it.

I got it from flubit for £55 or thereabouts

amazon are paying special referral rates to uotukdeals again. or hotukdeals Gabe in because ppl were realising how shady the the site is with its backroom deals.

Cheers, back-ordered.

No one cares...

I paid £64 from Argos about 3 months ago now when it was down in price. So this is an excellent deal, it's a Samsung Hard Drive inside

Got one from Argos at this price at the end of August to upgrade my laptop's storage. Exact drive inside was a Samsung Spinpoint M9T 2TB ST2000LM003.

ordered 2 of these through flubit for £54.98 each. couldn't post deal because Amazon was banned from hukd

There are only three manufacturers of harddrives

Anyone running a website such as HUKD and not taking advantage of affiliate revenue would be daft. I'm not sure who or what owns HUKD, but as an individual you'd be minted.

If the content on the site was influenced by who paid HUKD higher referral fees I could see why users might be concerned. Seems fine as it is though, it's not as though Quidco and TCB don't get mentioned here a hundred times per day, and using them will prevent HUKD from earning anything on your purchases.

Not the same one that is full sized hard drive 3.5 and this is 2.5

Damn, why do all the good deals have to come when I have spent my money on other deals and now I have to wait until I get paid again... Lmao

Is it the same one as showing on Amazon for £54.99 right now? No code needed; but I'll go for the one for £50 at Tesco if I can!

. . . . Yes, Tesco works for me; at £50. Great thanks - heat.

The cheaper one everyone mentioning at £54.99 is the 3.5 inch Hdd.

Just to be clear this is 2.5 inch version of the external drive

Not the 3.5 inch, this version does not require external power source, powered by USB only, and can fit in to Laptops and PS4, whether the 3.5 inch version require mains power and does not fit in to PS4 or Laptops.

Just wanting to make 100% sure

You just pop this out of it's enclosure yeah, and install it in the PS4?

Just paid £55 for a 1TB from Currys a couple of week back so if this works great in the PS4, this is a gooooooooood deal

Seagate bought Samsung's hard drive business.

I've been waiting for this to drop by a tenner for a little while now. Glad I waited.

why? guess you are still waiting as its only dropped a fiver

Correct me if im wrong?
I thought ps4 doesnt accept HDD, bigger than 1.5TB. Obviously can still stick it in there, but then again does it cause problems like (Daviedeal) is claiming.

I didn't have any problem with the 2TB drive, if there was a problem I could reformat the drive as 1.5TB, but I am seeing the same load times for Advanced Warfare between the original drive and this one.

Thanks Wolfey, appreciate the prompt reply!
