I'm in the same boat as you. I'm thinking early january will see them hit even cheaper. I was looking through some old amazon orders this morning and found a WD 1.5TB I bought in early 2011 for £35. Doubtful they will ever come down that low anytime soon though

Will need to either format it to Mac OS Extended. Or FAT 32 which works on both mac or windows, but you will be limited to max 4GB file sizes with the latter.
Think Seagate has a software (NTFS Driver for Mac OS?) which would mean you would not have to reformat it (therefore can drag and drop via both PC and MAC). This software was on this site in the Freebies Section but can't seem to find it now,
