Erm, I don't know what that means. Never owned an external hard drive. I'l do some research

Be faster though, ideal if it's going to be used for a PS4 or something
Hot from me
Can I remove the 3TB hard dive and install it into my PS4 and then put the original 1TB into the enclosure?

If you mean can you plug it into more than one computer and backup files onto it from each of them then the answer is Yes you can.
Oh yea of course.

Whilst on the subject of hard drives, I have a SkyHD 2TB box laying around after my Q upgrade, could I remove that one and put it in an enclosure and use that as additional PS4 storage? I'm not sure on the spec of the Hard Drive inside it. 🤔

Sorry in my head your question was PS4/3 Xbox and pc etc, turns out PS4 can't have partitioned drives but if you mean can you use it on your pc that drop say MP3, Movies etc then take it to a mates then yes you can do that, works like a pen drive but bigger obviously
Good price but 4TB is even better value £/TB

3TB - £24.99/TB
4TB - £24.06/TB

Very unlikely, the 2TB HDD will most likely be a 3.5inch drive whereas the PS4 can only take 2.5inch drives.

I meant put it in a 3.5 enclosure and use it as external storage. I imagine it can be done I'm just not sure if the Sky hard drive will be too poor spec to work with PS4
Bought this Pc World as it’s the same price - great value and easy to setup.

All 3.5 hard drives need external power, 2.5 hard drives dont

Can't see why not, you will have to format it but that's easy enough, since it's sky q (3.5 hdd) you will need a powered encloser

Prob not to poor spec, if sky q is 4k they will have to use a decent spec hdd for read write speeds

The Sky box HDD should work fine in an external enclosure for a PS4, the HDD won't be easy to remove though from experience!

Just to confirm its a HDD out of SkyHD 2TB box not a Q box. I've removed one before it's not too bad as long as your not trying to be careful. 😁

I went on a benchmark site and the HDD out of the sky box performed better than the one in the PS4 pro, it is a 3.5 so I suppose that's to be expected, quite alarming how poorly the PS4 pros HDD rates at 🙄.

Very nice. I got the 2TB from a deal late last year. Put all my music on it and still have 1 TB left. Space is so cheap now.
Good deal. My old one is dead, tempted. That'll do nicely, thank you

You should be able to plug it in and go. You may be asked to format it first use, but it will choose the right format type.

It won't work so easily from Windows to Mac to Linux, if that's what you're asking. But Windows to Windows (even different versions) should work.

Yes, I saw the benchmarks, looks surprisingly good. I also saw this guide

Coincidentally, they used the same drive as in this deal, but in 5TB form
I've got this very same one about a year ago. It's been super reliable and very quiet with my PS4. Definitely recommend it.

May be able to sell the Sky 2tb box for more than the price of the 2tb HDD then don't have to spend 30 mins opening it up, but instead 2h on ebay / gumtree and postage.

Since Sky Q came out you can't even give them away, they fetch around £30+delivery on eBay after fees I think this is the cheaper option.

Does a 'video' HDD differ from a normal one in anyway, tried googling and all I could see
was they are better in a lot ways physically as they are used almost 24/7 for things such as surveillance etc... 🤔

Not gonna lie, that's a shocking item. Yeah it's 3TB but imagine how devastated you will be when it ultimately fails and you loose 3TB data.. better off buying few smaller ones.

From what I recall from similar reviews upon here in the past + also similar explanations of similar/same on PVR Systems and like upon other Sites, etc?.

ANY kind of Recording Media (eg. SD, Micro SD, Hard Drives - Internal/External, or whatever?), that have been designed for/with PERMANENT 'Writing' to (Surveillance Systems, Spy Cameras, Drones, constant and fast moving video like the shooting of the F1 Grand Pre and such likes?), ALL fair wayyyy better when the Media they're being written to is one that's designed with PVR type of specification's built-in to them, etc ...

Other non-PVR Media fair accordingly to other criteria based upon how/what the intended spectrum of their designed purpose was, etc?.

Eg. RAID Drives for Server's (even though it can successfully be argued that normal bog standard Hard Drives would more than suffice instead).

And a 30-40mbs write speed on a Micro SD card would be more than sufficient on a Mobile Phone, if all you want to do with it is take selfies with it allllll day long?, looooool (a 80-100mbs Micro SD card is there not only not required, but could also be argued as potentially excessive overkill, etc etc etc?.

So it's up to you. :-)
