Pretty sure this is a 4tb portable drive (2.5")
The Argos drive is full size (3.5") and requires external power.

nice size and external to boot, so you can hide all your pr0n on away from her indoors

good find op, heat added

ah ok. couldn't tell from the photo . but you're probably right

Great drive made by Samsung so no SMR pish, a new 5TB portable is coming soon and unfortunately does use SMR.

With these 2.5" models that's not really recommended, some of them do have strange proprietary interfaces from USB to disk that doesn't have a normal SATA interface in between.

If you want to look at "shucking" an external disk to get to the disk inside, stick to 3.5" models.

The big one across from Asda in Watford.

When you buy it, wrap it in bubblewrap/foam/gell/silicone, as, if you have it standing on its side & you accidentally pull the power lead while vacuuming behind your desk, pulling it onto its side, the horrible rigid case will transfer the shock directly to the spinning plates inside, destroying the drive, making it squeal, then die within seconds, & you`ll never see the 3TB (15+ years worth) of data you`d painstakingly dragged over to it for weeks beforehand (subsequently formatting the drives you`ve dragged the data off & re-using them as DVR recording drives).

You`ll never guess how I found that out..

I got mine last year when Argos were doing it for £79 BTW (& possibly still are going by some of the other comments)..

Housework can be so destructive. Safer just to let the place slowly fill with dust.

I've used 2.5 drives in pcs for years with no issues.

All my IT pals also agree there are no adverse effects to using a 2.5 vs 3.5 for general use / gaming etc.

If you were to use the small drive for heavy duty applications like servers or video surveillance then it's a risk.

Heat added I just got one in East Kilbride store. None on the shelf had to ask at the counter. Got it for £100 then nectar points took it to 90.

Going to use this on my PS4 pro with sata extender.
