Got 2 of these one last time at this price one hooked up to xbox one very good drives and good price

Great price. Personally would prefer 2 x 2Tb though. Depends on your personal needs I guess.

Anyone used this for the PS4? (removed from enclosure and stuck it inside the PS4)

Great price for the size and I trust Seagate/WD but I don't really need a 4TB (yet may get later and split when i build new pc) anyone know any deals on a external 1TB lol?

Would this be a good upgrade for my ZX81?

What a great picture - brings back a few memories. I remember when a 300 MB hard disk cost £1700.

First HD I came across was at the local council, it was 8inches across and had 4 or 5 platters can't remember the capacity, but it was probably not much more than a few megabytes. The first pc I used was an Apple II with a 10MB Winchester, cost £2000.

forgot to say, cue New World Symphony by Dvorjak ... (Hovis, lad on bike advert)

Good price - 4TB is finally getting competitive. I remember buying 2x2TB for 99.98 nearly 3 years ago - but of course prices went up shortly after.

I work for Amazon and these have been selling pretty well. The only thing that I think is a problem is that they are unboxed and are packaged in bubble wrap.

You may need to change the text as it shows Box Contains when there is no box.

I just got one and it came in a sealed new Seagate box. Amazon and Seagate do not supply new items in bubble wrap !

It depends what item it is. I've bought OEM hard drives from Amazon before and they've come in a antistatic bag, wrapped in bubble wrap.

Mine arrived today in a seagate box no bubble wrap in sight

Does this work with the PS3? I mean playing media from it. Not replacing the harddrive.

Seagate has a high failure … Seagate has a high failure ratehttp://www.extremetech.com/extreme/175089-who-makes-the-most-reliable-hard-drives

From the same article you linked:

''Check out BackBlaze's September 2014 updated report. Compare the Seagate drives to the WD drives installed in the last year. The Seagate Desktop HDD.15 has a 3% failure, and the Western Digital Red has an 8.8% failure. On this more recent report WD is failing nearly 3X as much as Seagate. HGST has the lowest failure rate again in 2014''.

£20 more for the 5TB in argos with £10 voucher

Good point about the failure rate. It would be a false economy if it's more likely to fail. Anyone spotted any Hitachi deals? A safer bet?

My very first computer. aaaah the memories.

£0.02 per GB (or £0.0268 per usable GB to be exact)

Not bad at all! Very tempted.

Would this work OK with XB1?

Yes, good deal if you can find any.. but oos in all of London and not available for home delivery.

This is the one you'd need for your PS4 2.5" and PS4 only supports up to 2TB so far. You could then pop the 500GB one out of your PS4 into the enclosure and use it as a 500gb external argos.co.uk/sta…htm

Think so ...

From xbox.com
The basic requirements for storing games and apps on an external drive are:

Has capacity of 256 GB or more
Uses USB 3.0.
Devices that don’t meet the above requirements will be treated as media storage, such as for music or video. If you have a storage device that does meet the above requirements for game and app storage, you can cancel the format to use it as a media device.
