Ta - will update post
The last two seagate drives I've had failed within a year. Will go for this and cross my fingers!
A good point (quite literally) in the comments there of it having standby mode.

I found, the hard way, you can't turn off the USB pass through power on the Xbox when it's powered off. So I had no idea, until I heard the click of death on the drive one night, that it was sat whirring away all day as soon as the mains to my setup was switched on in the morning. Fortunately, it was a rescue drive I hadn't spent money on, but still...
Do these only work with Xbox? And not PC

It works as an external drive out the box, the Xbox will format it to work correctly for it.

This works on anything including the PS4.
They'll stick anything like " Xbox Gaming " on a external USB hard drive to sell it. All just marketing blurb..

Isn’t this like admitting to having a lack of focus and being easily distracted by not being able to finish a game and move onto the next one? Why not just save £80 and get organised?

I have lots of games to be fair, some are multiplayer that I might only play now and again so it's good to not have to download it all over again whenever I want to play it.

Yeah, I’m in that camp, but I suffer from OCD and keep my stuff tightly organised. On top of that, I tend to play smaller single player games, but as soon as my BF gets on, my plans become dashed as he’s downloading massive service type games and jumping between the on a regular basis. So I guess it depends on the type of gamer you are

There’s a hand full at most in most people’s cases, the reality goes something like ooooo top game is here > download > add to collection of 50 others > still only play past multiplayer games > download more > run out of space > ignore the problem of just finishing some games > buy more space > scale up the problem.....

How about limiting to like 5-10 and only moving on once your done otherwise it’s all just a mess isn’t it? How can you get into something by being spread too thinly, it’s the same as trying to watch 100 films at the same time

Absolutely get your point but at the end of the day, if people can afford it and it helps them, who really cares?

I am really bad don’t tell anyone but as it’s white I use on PS4
What makes it 'gaming' HDD?
How is this priced compared to other HDD? As it's just a HDD and the XBOX name drop is just a gimmick

It’s watering down actual proper gaming experiences, maybe I’m showing my ripe old age but even from a cognitive standpoint less = more. Too much becomes distractive and just kills the enjoyment at times. Although there is shop therapy which can be fun ofc but surely it’s overwhelming having too many games, or anything else.....I bet so many decent games get missed because of this crazy behaviour
