I prefer multiple 1 tb drives to one 4 tb then if it fails you only lose a certain amount of data

Definitely a good price for the capacity, however I've personally only ever had issues/failures with Seagate drives versus no problems with other brands.

Always check the warranty period with Seagate!
Don’t matter either way as long as you have multiple backups .
Can the drive be removed from enclosure and fitted into NAS?
I bought one of these one a previous deal, it's a Seagate so you have to expect it to fail, but I didn't expect it to fail within less than 18 months!
Fortunately because Seagate has such an appalling reputation I backed it up. I won't be buying another though.
