The cheapest I have ever seen for disk space at just £16.2/TB. All be it 'refurbished'. Still has 3 months Seagate warranty remaining.

Next best price new is £179 here.

Slow, very slow drive

It's almost like it was designed for archiving.

you don't need that much space

How would you know how much space someone needs?!
Not only is it a Seagate, but it's a returned Seagate. It doesn't get better.

I have 4 of these and they're perfect for long term storage. If you're not constantly moving files on and off the drive then it's great value. They're not even that slow tbh.

Since buying them in Feb 2015, I've not had a single drive fail, which I must admit is miraculous for Seagate.

Been using 8 of these in a Z2 array for the past 4 years with no errors or problems...

I'm too stingy to buy reds at this point and no other 8tb drive available apart from helium ones at the time which cost 3 times as much.

They are slow as hell but since a scrub utilizes all drives it's still getting an 800mb/s throughout.

I thought it might have been after I commented... sorry. Hard to tell what is intended as sarcasm on the interweb
Cold for me, only 3 months warranty! I picked up 4 x 4TB WD enterprise drives for £320 with warranty until 2019.

On the contrary a returned and refurbished drive from any manufacturer has probably been better tested than most new drives.

PS: The last drive I had fail was a WD Red 4TB recently and WD were a pain in the backside to deal with to get it swapped as it was one in an external 2 bay My Book Duo and they wanted photos of the internal drive before they would raise an RMA. I guess they suspected I was pulling a fast one claiming it was from the My Book Duo when it wasn't. Anyway thankfully 3 weeks later that drive has now been shipped off to them for replacement.

Touch wood all my Seagates are and will continue to be fine.

Heat. A good price for what it is. If you can afford better new then buy that, in which case why even bother to look at such deals?

ebay.co.uk/itm…090

Looks like the deal I got is sold out, maybe send the seller a message? The drive listed are newer with less hours usage some with warranty until 2020 and 2021.

I ordered 2 then another 2 you'll see my feedback
I'd be willing to take a punt for archiving, but that initial backup time from my existing drives is gonna be excruciating!

ebay sales usually mean the warranty is void ,usually only applies to "approved" retailers

3 month warranty.Slow drive

Does it take >3 months to fill it given its slow speed? That might be problematic given the short warranty...
Great Price!

Ordered one for an old Mac Pro that I'm using for long term video storage (Also backed up via BackBlaze)
The words Seagate and Refurbished should keep all sensible people clear of this.
