My first post, i'm searching for an external hard drive and came across this.

Hope I've helped/interested a few of you.

The Expansion 1TB external hard drive from Seagate is ideal for backing up multimedia files, giving you extra storage space on top of your computer's internal hard drive.

Just connect the Expansion 1TB drive to your computer's USB 2.0 port and start transferring digital photos, music, films and games - it's that easy!

Interfaces 1 x Hi-Speed USB
Cables Included 1 x USB cable
Compliant Standards Plug and Play
Width 8.4 cm
Depth 15.2 cm
Height 2.7 cm
Weight 310 g
Interface Transfer Rate 480 Mbps
Spindle Speed 5400 rpm

Powered by the USB.

USB bus powered which is good.

Still think the price is too high.

I picked up a 1TB Western Digital external drive for £50 or so from Amazon,so not such a great deal.

This is a bad deal - it is £59.99 at Amazon and the equivalent Western Digital model is £51.99.
Sorry just realised the OP has detailed the 2.5" USB model not the 3.3" that needs another external power source

WOW please forgive me! I believe that is the same =\

Yup this isnt the same as the cheaper £50 models so cant really be compared, its a good price for a 1TB USB powered drive, but i wouldnt be suprised to see these fall in price further (since we've been seeing 500GB ones lately for around the £40-50 mark)

sorry op didn't realise that you have posted a 2.5" usb drive - I wish they would call them different things - the price is about average for this item
