OK First deal I've posted. Saw this in my local Sainsburys (Bishops Stortford) and thought it a good deal so grabbed one. Weirdly they were also selling a Segate model with half the capacity for £49.99 go figure. Anyway not too sure if national but hopefully so !

Many thanks for the HU on this. None in my small local store, so I drove over to Shrewsbury to get one. I've got a bit of a data storage crisis at present, so I've been looking for a large USB3 drive this weekend.

They have them in Wrexham.

Same here - had these in Bitterne,Southampton. Although none out on display, a quick chat with a member of staff elicited a stock level of two, so promptly bought both!

This is a great deal, these are/were usually worth about 70/80£

There were 3 in Knotty Ash, just had all 3, one for a friend and 2 so I can have mirrored external drives for my photography. Winning!

Don't see why you would rush to track this down when you could get the perfectly good 1TB USB3 Intenso from Ebuyer for just £39.99 delivered.

I take the point about Intenso and others but most of my hard drive failures over the years have been with Seagate hard drives while the others are still going strong. Most onerous of all was opening up my iMac to replace the noisy Seagate hard drive. It took years of complaining before Apple finally emailed users with a product recall/replace HD email on that contentious Seagate HD. I'm told a lot of those drives were replaced with laptop hard drives, though I don't recall if they were Seagates or not! Mind you, the idea or the Royal Mail dropping one of these through our door onto the concrete flagstones on the communal hall, doesn't thrill me, especially when the packaging from Amazon is quite often as though a book, with no protection but hard cardboard.

All said, last week Sainsburys in Edinburgh (Queensferry Road branch) had quite a lot of them on display. They weren't in the computer department, or at least not that I saw there, but on a display tower nearer the front of the store with other computer and audio components.
