Good price to upgrade your PS4. It's a refurb with 12 months warranty, but doesn't matter anyway as opening case for PS4 upgrade will void warranty.

the price is great but bear in mind the case is quite tricky to open

How tricky is it to open, I guess even buying new and opening case would void warranty, but should I trust a returned refurb drive?

I wouldn't, no matter how cheap. Not worth it. Everything fails but why increase your risk.

it's only a few pounds more for a new 1

Case is easy to open. People say that seagate drives always fail so don't even bother with a refurb, especially when a brand new one can be had for a couple of quid more

People are referring either to the 3TB ST3000DM001 or the Backblaze 2015 report on 1.5TB and 3TB desktop drives (which were chosen to run in a server environment).
Every manufacturer will produce a turkey of a drive every now and then - the ST3000DM001 is one of those but the 4TB and 6TB Seagate models used by Backblaze have been shown to have an average failure rate... but that doesn't make a very good headline

Heat from me

i have bought one of these new for about £65 a couple years ago and installed the hard drive in my ps4, to get the case open you have to use a very thin knife and screwdriver to get it open, it is still working in my ps4 now.

This works perfect in my ps4 and it was easy to open, I put the old 500gb drive in the case and now use it as an external
