Found 4th Sep 2015
I was looking to upgrade my PS4 HDD to 2TB. Someone posted a deal on here for the above Seagate 2TB HDD which is the cheapest at the moment at Argos (£59.99).

argos.co.uk/sta…htm

However, I came across Barclays' bespoke offers beat my price programme and decided to give it a try. It came back with a lower price at £52.02 + FREE delivery!!!

I hope my deal will help those looking for a cheap and good 2TB HDD for their PS4.

You can't give a Bespoke offer as the price of this deal since there is no guarantee of it

Other than that, good deal
great price.
Good price for the size but it's not great quality tbh.
How does returns work with Bespoke Offer if the drive becomes faulty?

"If something’s wrong with your product or you’d like to cancel your order and get a refund, please contact the merchant directly. You can write to the merchant via the ‘Contact the merchant’ link found in your purchased product detail from the ‘Purchased’ tab. You’ll also see a phone number to call."
Above probably only applies during 1st 12months; m13-m24 would likely be direct with Seagate as per any other retailer.
Be aware that the actual drive you now get is the 2015 edition which has a different housing, which is quite tough to get off without damaging. But still, the drive in it's great, I've had mine for a month now and you get about 1.77TB once it's formatted in the PS4.
Check out this item I found on eBay:

That's a full size desktop drive with a mains plug, not a little pocket sized laptop drive powered by USB
They're always this price.

I found this so I sent it back for a refund. How did you manage to open it? tried looking for a tutorial on youtube but no luck. Thanks

Thanks.
I got one a couple of weeks back. It took a while to get it apart and I did damage some of the lugs, but eventually I got the drive out. 2TB works a treat in the PS4 and i put the old 500Gb back in the case for a drive for my TV. Win win!

From Argos, yes; but the real "deal" is the alternative purchase route providing opportunity of equiv of £46, via Bespoke BeatMyPrice (+ Topcashback). So to combine all available discounts:
BBMP reduction likely to be minimum 10% @ £6 (although OP achieved nearer £8 )
BBMP demand TCB @ £0.40+
BBMP purchase TCB @ circa £7.56
Potential equivalent of total £46 or marginally less, with usual caveats of TCB not guaranteed.
At time of post, current TCB BBMP opportunities expire on Mon 07 Sept 2015. Subsequent opportunities may by less (or more?) favourable.
Personally if I wanted a 2TB drive I would BBMP against the Samsung D3 2TB cos the base price is less (but may achieve less BBMP % discount), has a 3year warranty rather than the OP Seagate 2year warranty, and speaking from personal experience: the D3 case is simple to open !

Nonsense.

Seagate are one of the top HDD manufacturers in the world, and get generally great reviews. It's a complicated technology and HDDs fail sometimes. It's probably happened to you before hence your negative comment.

I have 4 or 5 external drives over the last decade or so, all seagate and all still working.

If I recall correctly, Seagate is among the best three worst HDD manufacturers in the world

Yeah, well I still gave heat for the price but I own this exact model and it does cut out occasionally and the cable position is poorly designed and is constantly falling out. Those are my only gripes really, thinking about getting a Western Digital next so I'll see how that goes.

Bought it for ps4. Excellent purchase
I've just ripped mine open so that I can install the drive into my PS4 and lo and behold it's actually a Samsung drive and not a Seagate drive. Sorry I didn't note the serial number but it looked almost identical to the Samsung drive that came out of my PS4 except it had a blueish green motherboard instead of a green one that the PS4 contained.
Bought with American Express offer so great price, thanks OP

Just got one of these drives, does anyone have a guide for opening it before I give it a go?

Any guide I have found has been for the older 2014 model and not the 2015 model.

EDIT: Bought a cheap spudger from Amazon and used that to pry the case open, broke a few of the clips but the case still shuts firmly and works fine.

Would this be a good purchase for the Xbox one? Only got 2gb left on it.

I don't see why not, its a neat little drive and USB 3 too so should be just as fast as it is in the PS4.
Argos are currently offering a £5 voucher against £50+ or £10 voucher against £100+ purchases, so save an additional fiver against future purchases.

argos.co.uk/sta…htm

These are not only good for laptops, PS4's and XBOX One's. I purchased 4 of these today (3 for 59.99 +1 for £44.99 + another £5 voucher) for my TS-453S Pro mini NAS. Utilising RAID-5 they will provide me with 6TB of fully redundant storage within a form factor that uses less than half of the power of a 3.5" NAS and which makes virtually no noise. It was easy opening the cases open to reveal the M9T HDD's inside.
