Good price. Hot.
Nice deal thanks for posting
Good price for a decent HD. Hot deal.
It looks big.
I have 2 of these bad boys and they're small and quiet. Not much bigger than the actual HD itself. USB3 is a real plus! Only thing is the connection on the rear of the case appears to be a proprietary one. No biggie.

Looks to be a standard usb3 connection to me from images I have seen...
You could be right given that these 2 HDs are the only USB3 peripherals I own. I assumed they would look like "normal" usb 1&2 connections but the ones on my HDs are different.

this is better deal...Thank

This is a 3.5 drive - the larger size hdd eg for desktop bays. For ps3 and laptops you need to buy hdd in 2.5 sizes however you will not find a 2tb 2.5 seagate for as low a price as this deal. I bought a seagate usb3 2.5 1tb hdd the other day off amazon for a gift and paid i think £62 this still represents good value and it does not need any other power supply other than through the usb cable - the 2.5 is very small too, nice!

Oh and Merry Christmas all HUKDers

See they try to con people into thinking this is a portable drive, by putting it next to a laptop - hising any mention of the required power adapter. It's a reasonable deal, apart from the fact the advertising is designed to mislead.

Merry Christmas all. I'm looking for additional memory for my laptop is this not suitable? If anyone knows of a good deal for 1tb or less I'll prefer that though. Thank.

Can confirm this is in store too as I just got one. Woo hoo
just bought one of these - seems quiet and good value.
Maplin were £79 and the 1TB in currys is also £69 so be careful which one you lift!!
Just bought one.

Very quiet, just copied a single 2.4gb file across at a sustained 85-90MB/Second so the USB 3 is working nicely.

Even the guy at PC World when I went to pick it up commented 'That's a fantastic buy you found.' I was desperately needing some space and I'm still spoiled by the pre Thailand Flood prices.

On...but not in.
gone down to £59.99 now...

Still £69.99 here.
Newbold

Still £69.99 here.

Back to £69.99 now, but I clicked it within minutes of sim11 posting and I also saw it for £59.99, might have been a glitch.

I bought another one in store today for £69.99, these drive are actually very good. I can even record a 1920x1080 FRAPS stream to it at 60 fps. I'm very happy with these.

No it's a USB 3 drive, it needs to be connected to a PC and cannot plug straight into a network.
Does this have a physical power switch built into it at all?
Thanks

No it's just a straight plug in, it only powers up when there's a usb plugged into a computer though, so it powers up and down with your computer.

Just bought one, I can confirm it does have a proprietary connector.

If it looks like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Connector_USB_3_IMGP6033_wp_.jpg then it's a standard USB 3.

And this picture of the product shows that it is

My bad, I didn't realise they'd changed the standard connector. I'll delete my original post.
Can this be used to connect to a Sony TV, for recording
