Seagate Expansion desktop drive, add-on storage for your PC
The Seagate Expansion desktop drive provides extra storage for your ever-growing collection of files. Add space for more files instantly, consolidate all your files
to a single location, or free space on your computer's internal drive for improved performance.

Set-up is straightforward. Simply plug in the included power supply and USB cable and you are ready to go. It is automatically recognised by the Windows operating system, so there is no software to install and nothing to configure. Saving files is easy too, just drag and drop.

Take advantage of the fast data transfer speeds with the USB 3.0 interface by connecting to a SuperSpeed USB 3.0 port. USB 3.0 is backward compatible with USB 2.0 for additional system compatibility.

System Requirements

  • Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP SP3 (32-bit and 64-bit) operating system
  • SuperSpeed USB 3.0 port (required for USB 3.0 transfer speeds, or backward compatible with USB 2.0 ports at USB 2.0 transfer speeds)

Seagate! Your drive will die, you will lose your job, your family will abandon you, your house will burn down and the world will end.

I think I covered everything.

Voted hot.

I've got a couple of Seagate drives that are over 5 years old in my gaming PC.... Its been nice knowing everyone.
How long do they last? I would consider one for my ps4 if I could keep using it for the ps5

This is one of those 'how long is a piece of string' questions.
My suggestion is spend £3 more and get the 2.5 inch version. It's about 8 times smaller (!) and doesn't need a separate power supply, it's powered over USB. There really is no need to get a 3.5inch drive unless you're running applications directly from the drive and you normally wouldn't do that from an external drive. It's more than worth an additional £3

Plenty of people. A single 40 min 4K vid can be around 7.5 Gig.
Is this a good deal to buy and replace (sell) the internal drive with something like a used Seagate 10TB IronWolf Pro 3.5 ? Or are there better (read: cheaper, but Xbox One X compatible) USB 3 enclosures ?
It's dropped to £86 now.
