Today I found Sainsbury's Eltham offering a Seagate Expansion 4TB USB 3.0 hard drive for £99 which is £30 off their normal recommended retail price.

They also had the 2TB version of the Seagate Expansion portable hard drive for £64.

Not sure if this is nationwide with Sainsbury's.

Hi appears to be national, had some in merry hill west Midlands store both 2tb and 4tb, same prices as original poster.

the 2tb normal price was £60 until few weeks ago. We got few of the 2tb @ £30 6 months ago

Also some in Halifax earlier this week

pretty decent TBH

Hot

Hot from me

It is a bargain for portable HDD, it is a decent price for non portable HDD
If you search past HUKD deal there have been a few deal of 5tb for this price.
So if you play a waiting game you should be able to get 5TB at this price.

In this case It is a bargain
You should also put "portable" in the original title or in the description to avoid misunderstanding..

It does already say Portable in the original title and mentions that the 2TB version of the portable drive is for sale for £64 as well.

The DEAL TAGS also mention 2.5" portable hard drive as well.

Bear in mind these Seagate Drives are SMR (Shingled Magnetic Recording) so will have slower write speeds than similar (smaller capacity) non-SMR Drives.

I actually just bought one of these , i removed the HDD to shove in a 2.5 rack caddy .

The height/depth of these drives is probally x3 of a normal laptop HDD , so if you are buying one to shove in a laptop make sure you have the space ! .

I'm assuming it's standard SATA and not a soldered on USB3?

Are these powered through USB or externally?

It's powered by USB as it's a 2.5" based hard drive in a plastic caddy.

can I take this apart and put hard drive in my ps4 ??

The hard drive unit is thicker than normal 7mm and 9.5mm height based hard drives so it is unlikely to fit.

That's a shame

There you go, expecting people to bother reading the words before they start typing

You can get 4TB HDD cheaper... still, it's Seagate and start with the same letter as s..t

Got one from Heaton Park today and think there was another left on the shelf. Just what I needed thanks OP!

Yeah, I don't like the sound of this SMR technology. Far too quantum physics sounding for my liking!

Got last 5 in dudley, hot

Indeed , The equivalent Samsung portable 4TB HDD is soldered from my research.

I might need another 1 of these. Already filled the last one up.

Got 2 in my local, thanks OP really good find

had one in the Newcastle under Lyme store earlier today.
