Did you include the $40 shipping and import fee's?
It’s $214.57 USD = £150.80 after import duty.

Still a deal then. Just not as good of a deal, I'll vote hot but I personally couldn't buy such a huge drive for personal use, losing that much data all at once? Unless you bought a couple ofc haha

I don't think you are purchasing from the US Amazon. If buying from Amazon it costs $150, whereas there are several other sellers which have the item listed for $170.
Comes to £139.16 for me. Maybe less paying in USD with a conversion fee free Credit Card.

WHAT?! You mean something someone commented online wasn't factually correct?

Dear god why god why?!?

You just can't trust anyone these days.

Yeah got it. All good now..
It's a bit odd to be told I can apply for an Amazon Rewards Visa card even though I'm not a US citizen. Just odd to have it marketed to me with a free US gift card as a reward too. Not much point in that if I don't live in the US.

Will still get hit with import duty when it hits the UK.

It's just a banner ad for whoever is on the site. You'd immediately be turned down if you tried to apply.
Personally I think it's worth factoring in returns too. I have just had to return a hard drive to Amazon because it had clearly been opened and tampered with even though it was listed a brand new item.

Folks, just to clarify one thing. This drive holds Seagate Archive kind hdd. So you should not count on speed specially in Write mode where they could be 50-200 times slower then competitive drives. If you happy with write speed ca. 10MB/s instead of 150MB it is your choice. But you have been warned about.

Yes, it all about storage data for long time. Data which won't to be changed frequently. For those who want to dig deeper please have a look here: storagereview.com/sea…8tb

Nope, import fees are paid in advance as part of the price.
If you use the Amazon Currency Converter to purchase in GBP, do you still have to pay an additional currency conversion fee from your Credit Card Company on top?
There is a desktop hub version as well (£143)

This includes the import fees. Only issue is you are reliant on Amazon warranty, not the Seagate one.
International shopping from amazon.com & hard drive just sounds like a disaster to me.

Does the drive have international warranty or do they void the warranty claiming grey import?
