I wonder how many games you would be playing across on both consoles …I wonder how many games you would be playing across on both consoles

Surprising how fast you can build up a big collection especially with things like monthly free games (plus and gold), games pass, EA access etc, plus the ever growing list of 360 BC titles is also adding to my collection as I did own a lot of 360 titles digitally too. Don't actually get time to play that many of them TBH but I just like the idea of having them ready to go when I want to play them, having games available that aren't installed makes my Xbox or Playstation feel somehow incomplete...

Heated, good price for this (huge) amount of storage. I have 2 x 4TB drives for my PS4 Pro and Xbox One S (one drive each console), but don't think I could justify giving them this much each

What's the procedure for getting a replacement if a US-bought drive fails?
My guess is that significant expense and a lot of faffing-about would be the most optimistic scenario.

Call of Duty are around 100gb each, I like to keep the online games installed, Cod, Battlefield, Diablo, GTA V, like you said, makes it easier to just jump in and play rather than waiting for the install then the updates!! Could easily use half of this right away!!

Same here, my 4tb is now completely full... Time for a new hard drive! I know this is gonna be a weird question but can you use more than 4tb on either PS4 or XB1?

You can use two on xbox one: reddit.com/r/x…an/ but only one on the PS4. I got around this a bit by upgrading my PS4 Pro to a 2TB SSHD before adding the 4TB external so really have 6TB total. The Xbox One S only has 500GB internal though so my total storage is 'only' 4.5TB on that system

Can you crack this one open to use inside a regular computer?

You can but you then void any warranty as the clips that hold the case together break easily so even if you put it back together they can tell it's been opened.

Known as "shucking".
Thanks OP. Fantastic price and spot!

Which one?
Can get the 8TB Seagate's with the built in hub for 149.99 as very sent me a 30 of 60 voucher, nineteen pound saving worth it for the wait and possible warranty problems?
Ridiculously good price for 8TB new.
Anyone know which drive is inside?
Well . . . as long as it lasts the year Seagate will be happy.
Confused! Are these sent from the States? Would there not be VAT and Duty on import?

Please refer to the second line of the OP and included image

Amazon take VAT and customs charges upfront for international sales where applicable. The price otherwise here would be £109.

Is this the cheapest price per gig we've ever seen in a national deal

Hope so, say it's DOA?

You could but you should use SSD for boot drive and then USB 3 should be fine for additional drives so need to remove it.
Great price!

You do know you can have more than one internal drive

Yes, you can have many as your case and mobile can accommodate but from the warranty POV, maybe better leaving it.
A very annoying good price as I've just paid £198 for two 4TB drives from Amazon uk!
About time these sort of prices reached the UK directly
Tempted to get 2 and connect to pc as a cheap alternative to a NAS
Price has went up, now £140
What about the voltage isn't the US 110v?
I wonder if this is 2x4tb in one and if you could have them in raid 1.. wishful thinking?
£140.85 showing me now

How would you enforce it anyway? Don't think there's any legal recourse for a UK citizen buying from the US, or the enforceable distance selling regulations we enjoy as EU members. I would advise you get chapter and verse on your rights from both Amazon (and manufacturer if necessary) before buying

Good point but no problem if you intend to take the drive out of the enclosure.

You mean something like OMV or free as?
Just as a heads up in case anyone is thinking of using it as the main large drive on their PC, it's 5400RPM so only really good for storage (or games without a lot of loading). It'll be noticeably slower than the 7200RPM drives for general use though.
