5tb for the price of a discounted 4tb drive!!! Hot! I regret I bought the 4tb maxtor with similar price when it was on sale at ebuyer eBay outlet.
What's the difference between this and the other one, internally?
You are really taking a chance with this 5Tb drive

Hope it helps someone.
Fantastic price at less than £14.50 per TB in a portable hdd. Hot!
Great price, this is normally considered as a very good price for 4TB so this is like getting 1TB free on top of an already good price
Thanks bought.
is this usb-c?
Fot the xbox one x... Sorted 👌
Anyone taken the drive out of these, and if so how easy is it and what drives do they have?

is this usb-c?

No. The drive itself has a Micro B 3.0 connection (and the cable it comes with is Type A at the other end). Like so:

There are no screws visible, so not easy. There's a thin seperate piece of plastic at the top that looks like it could come off, but it's very securely fastened and would be difficult to remove non-destructively. I don't know if it's held on by glue or clips.
Good question, it's possible to remove the internal, there are guides online, although I'd also like to know exactly what drive.. it think it's probably a 2.5 in. SMR? If so not great for random access but good for storage. It's only an educated guess from past experience though.

Does anyone know what drive is in the backup plus 6TB?

It's held on by clips, using some very cheap tools (spludger and pick etc) you can disassemble it, a couple of the 8 or so clips may snap but it's negligible and drive comes out, use a guide.

Btw in addition to my other message the backup plus (the other Seagate on discount at ama) disassembled to reveal ST6000DM004 (although not the 7200 rpm Pro) last year fwiw which is an improvement on the standard SMR Archive drives SG were using for externals which double cache etc.

Don't know what Seagate are using inside the portable this year or whether it's still SMR.. (I'd have to assume so from past years)

Thanks matwala bought
Didn't see this one despite being on the same Amazon page as the 4 TB version, which is 5 quid more. Already purchased and received the 4 TB, considering returning it for this.
received a dead drive , a power issue, went on chat , had me trouble shooting it , then they rang seagate who said how old was the drive, brand new , got a replacement coming hope its ok
Thanks OP, voted hot and ordered.

It arrived today and works fine.

Does anyone know what the Start_Here_Win.exe on the drive is for?
I don't want to run it to find that it downloads/installs a load of stuff I don't need but curious to know whether it is something useful.

Thanks
