Specifications(V2,V1)

There are two versions of this, one with the Phison E16 controller(has DRAM) and the newer version with the InnoGrit RainierQX/IG5220 which is DRAMless but might be faster(but slower in transfer speeds) and has lower write endurance.

I have one of these and it has immense TBW - 3600TB for the 2TB model.

    EDIT!

OK,I am really annoyed - it seems they have recently introduced a lower TBW model this year without much fanfare,ie,the 2TB model is 1200TBW which is still decent but not the same as the previous one:

So you could get either of the models,so I apologise for not spotting this earlier. None of the reviews seem to be for the newer one. (edited)

As it happens it looks like those Austrian's are on to them:
    skinflint.co.uk/?cm…e=1
as they have updated the spec pages.
They call the new one the rev. 2022 with these item numbers:
    Seagate FireCuda 520 SSD +Rescue 2TB, M.2, Rev. 2022 (ZP2000GV30012 / ZP2000GV3A012)
    Seagate FireCuda 520 SSD 2TB, M.2 (ZP2000GM30002 / ZP2000GM3A002)
The latter is the 3,600 TBW endurance champion. The top one just a normal 1,200 TBW one.

Damn I was tempted by this but ended up with the WD bros. Like the idea of the TBW for a secondary drive. 4Tb is enough, though feel addicted to more nvMe storage...

Seagate have quietly introduced a V2 version this year with a 1200TBW without telling anyone. So there is probably a mix of the 1200TBW and 3600TBW model out there now!

I paid this price for 1TB version in January. Bought a heatsink on eBay for £8. All good. Heat. (edited)

It did recently but only for a very brief period. The FireCuda 520 has a higher TBW and is better for situations where you are writing a lot to the drive.

I got ZP2000GV30012 which is the 1200TBW version, so going back unfortunately
    karablitz's avatar
I thought this as well but realistically how much rewriting are you going to do?
