This is currently the best upgrade for the PS4. Bought one from Amazon Germany myself and it was in perfect condition - with the current exchange rate it works out around £83 delivered, so beats any UK price that I could find. Even new it's cheaper from the German site, and delivery is ultra quick.

When the 4.50 firmware comes out you'll be able to use external USB3 hard drives with PS4, up to 8TB is supported. No official release date on the firmware yet as far as I'm aware, but the beta was made available to those on the preview programme at the beginning of Feb.

While support for external drives is fantastic, getting this drive is more about improving the speed and performance of the system (at least in loading data from the HDD) and reducing load times than just increasing the available storage, which it does too of course.

I'm interested but as I've already got a 2TB HDD in my PS4 Pro (albeit a standard hdd not a hybrid) I'm not sure if I can justify this just for faster loading. Still highly tempting though.

I checked the price at checkout though and I'm getting £86, though I let Amazon convert as my card charges for non-uk purchases, so you probably get a better exchange rate paying in euros...

Well, the external hard drive is the faster option on Xbox One, so I'm waiting for the firmware update to be released to see if the same holds true on PS4 as well.

Hmm, it's applying a delivery cost of 5.58 euro to my order, though it says free delivery on the page (and I have prime). Is it because it's international delivery or am I doing something wrong?

Really tempted by this....

Seagate - brrrrrrrr!

You in Ireland? I always get that.

Nope, uk, ordered anyway, going to go on chat tomorrow and ask if they can remove or credit back the delivery charge...

Got a new one coming from PCWorld Business. Paid £100.98, and cashback brought it down to £99. Keep in mind that a used drive may not have the 5 year warranty. Worth it, in my opinion, for the little extra money.

Mine was delivered today but Amazon have right royally screwed it up. They have delivered completely the wrong drive! It's a Seagate Barracuda 2TB, this one: amazon.co.uk/Sea…B6/ instead of the Firecuda. The Barracuda is a much worse drive as it is basically just a bog standard 2.5" drive with no SSD partition and hence probably no faster than the standard mechanical drive I already have. Will be lucky if it even works as they literally just bunged it in one of their cardboard envelopes! That is all the protection it had coming all the way from Germany, pretty surprised it's even in one piece anymore.

Guess I have an afternoon of complaining to Amazon Germany ahead of me and the hassle of shipping a HDD back to Germany, quite surprised as Amazon are usually really good too....
