oh wait, its play. it is

Thanks - bought one

Just ordered. thanks. However, I'm pretty sure this is likely to be cancelled once they realise what looks like a misprice.

I thought exactly this!

Think it's so cheap, as it's basically an enclosure mounter - think you need a specific enclosure for it.

the old mk1 version that lacked hdmi out and only 1080i was this price as i bought one, have just ordered this one as well in case it does happen as its the proper speced one that ireally wanted just wann't gonna pay £130 notes for it!

I hope it will work without having the portable hard drive plugged in.

The play.com photo shows the hard drive fitted.

Also more info here seagate pdf

can u just plug in a usb flash drive with say avi movies on and just play?

This will soon get pulled when someone orders 50 for Ebay.

it says optional wireless b/g/n adapter can be connected to USB port. Can any wifi adapter work with it?

with the network connection this outshines my ps3 which is a pretty sad excuse for a media centre and now the optical drive has give up without hardly been used its practically useless. lol

This review *may* answer a few questions. It seems to suggest you can connect to a NAS also?...

Fingers crossed on this, thanks to the OP!

Good find, lets hope they get shipped.
Ordered myself 1

The seagate goflex HD TV superceeds this, seagate support is crap so beware!

check which file format you want to play it with as it doesnt support it all, most importantly for me it doesnt support RMVB files. With the new goflex hd tv it does and you can buy a seperate wireless device so you can stream off your network or surf youtube.

You do need a seperate hard drive as there is no internal memory, you can just stick any external hard drive and it will work. A important tip, it will create a .theatre folder on your drive, if you have problems such as wrong name, thumbnails, weird files then delete the .theatre and power it back on, it will auto create another one and should fix this problem.

i would buy this but it doesnt support all the file formats so would be useless to me and i have the goflex hd tv.

Links says £24.99!

£24.99 now

ordered.. and voted hot...
but waiting for Play to cancel :P

Does this upscale the video to HD? If not are there any palyers out there that do that. Thanks

just gon uo to 29.99...!

To be fair RMVB files are not the most common, basic mkv, avi, vob and iso files are present which is basically 99% of the market for most.

Trying taking it out the basket and re-adding it. That put the price back down to £17.99 for me

£29.99 still a good price?

£29.99

Got my order in so fingers crossed

orded 200 thanks

Dont see why people think it will be cancelled. They are £40 or less on other sites and places seem to be selling them off. Its not like its a £100 product
