Ive no clue as to why this ones getting cold, its the same as my prev post for eBuyer... strange?
I find that HUKD regular follows no pattern of coherence. Its a good drive, with a good price from a good retailer.

I've ordered one.

Many have complained about poor packaging from Amazon on HDD's think it's basicly an envelope.
I've never had a problem with them. And even if you did, their custumer service and returns are the best on the market.

Much better than eBuyer.

I've had an OEM HD sent in a box with a small scrunch of brown paper. Amazon non-retail HD packaging is the worst.
I ordered one of these from Amazon a few weeks ago came well packed in box with plastic end supports and bubble wrap.
Might be worth contacting Amazon first to tell them it is fragile.

Was this ever £200?

I bought a 12TB hard drive from Amazon and it was in one of the cardboard packages they use for a book or DVD wrapped in a minimal layer of bubble wrap. Amazon will delete your review is you mention packaging so it's very difficult to tell how many other drives have been similarly packaged, I also received an £85 DJI battery that was just loose in a similar package and not even sealed.

I've not voted cold on this but certainly put off buying anything fragile from Amazon at the moment.

Same here, I bought a 4TB IronWolf from Amazon and it arrived in a thin cardboard envelope with no protection whatsoever. Unsurprisingly it was faulty so back it went.

This was about four months ago, and it's very disappointing that at least some people are clearly still experiencing the same issues. The fact that Amazon are apparently censoring feedback about their lousy packaging doesn't increase my respect for them one little bit.

At least yours had a minimal layer of bubble wrap, mine arrived in just cardboard packaging. This was a few years ago though, nice to see amazon haven't improved much.

My past with Seagate drives after the Asian floods hasn't been favourable, the whole sector as a whole gutted customers to pay for that mess after it instead of paying for it all from their years of profit. The worst was the drives after that from Seagate were poor and next to no warranties unlike before the flooding. So as far as I'm concerned Seagate can go bite me if they think they are getting any more money from me for their products after their drives failing on me.

BTW - I didn't vote.
Bought 2 of these exact drives a couple of weeks ago on the lightning deal (1 on my account,1 on the mrs') the packaging on the one delivered to me was a book envelope and NO bubble wrap whereas the other one was foam padded box within another box - weird!!!

Haven't voted either way but I think for this price, I'd go for ebuyer in this instance (I'd still risk it for the £12 odd cheaper price that it was at though!)
If you have problems with the drive down the line - you'd wish you had went with Amazon! eBuyer returns and support is awful.
Showing as £112.61 now
