I got an email today from seagate saying they are offering £15 cashback on their (recently reduced) 2TB home NAS through a variety of retailers, although the only link in the email (provided) is for play, so you may be able to shop about and find it cheaper. nothing about the added cashback on amazon though.

Also available is a 1TB one for £83 after a tenner's cashback.

I searched on here and this appears to be a very good price for NAS systems, ideal for sharing music, videos and pics, etc between computers, printers and so on.

The downside appears to be that you can't organise things into folders and sub folders on it; you can only dump things straight onto it, but some people won't mind if they're just using it for music and videos.

my first deal so be kind (& hopefully not a repost)

No folders?!?!?!?! That'd drive me mental!

Thank you for taking the time to participate on the forums. The price has been amended as the listed deal price should be the price you have to actual pay the retailer to purchase the item before any retrospective discounts/cashbacks are applied, thanks again.

2TB of information and no way of organising it?! Mental!

yeah, i'm guessing the no folders thing is why it's so cheap. according to the review on play there may be an update in the future that allows it.

Looking through the reviews, this is the ideal sort of kit for someone who is bored and looking for something to do! The lack of folders sounds like the least of it's problems :-(

To be fair if your 'stuff' is tagged correctly you don't need folders, its just us technological dinosaurs that insist on forcing a physical structure. Until it goes wrong and you have no idea what you are trying to recover from where!

innit. or if you've got a shedload of bluray rips then this would surely do the job. and it's the cheapest 2tb nas i've seen, so why the cold?

is this deal only visible to me & mods/admin or something as i didn't see it on the main board?
