Pixmania not everyone's favorite retailer and yes Seagate have had problems any other suggestions post them.
Wouldn't trust a Seagate in a kids laptop let alone a nas.
Seagate drives are no worse than anyone else's all manufacturers have ups/Downs it was only a few years ago everyone was slating WD before that it was someone else in the 10/20gb drives it was Seagate again with their rubber surrounds.

Seagate are fine, this is 2015. do you people think that they continually churn out rubbish, yet remain one of the world's largest HDD manufacturers?.

Don't be silly, of course they don't!

Why do many large PC manufacturers fit Seagate as OEM?

Because their drives are decent quality.

I've had hundreds of Seagates at work and I mean hundreds and the actual failure is better than average if I'm honest.

Oh that wasn't a joke. Sorry, thought that was quite funny X)
All the cold voters may not have noticed that this is the NAS version and a better build quality than the desktop version.

I bow to your superior knowledge and razor sharp humour.......Not.
Haven't bought any Seagate drives since the AAM scandal

I personally had worse experience with so much praised wdc drives. Seagate had few botched drives, mostly fixable by fw upgrade.

All products I own came with Hitachi (HGST) hard drives.
PS4, PS3, Laptop, external HDD, etc
In my view I see most major OEM HDD's being Hitachi or Toshiba.
Only Lenovo and some ASUS laptops use Seagate's HDDs.

I'm afraid your wrong we have mainly HP's and some Lenovos (the two largest manufacturers in the world) the vast majority of these are fitted with Seagate drives.
So if this is cold, what's the best deal on a pair of 3TB drives for my NAS?
