I'll be first in with the " Voting cold as if it goes wrong 1.5TB is too much to loose"

Failure rate 0.34% which is about standard on 1TB+ drives be it form Samsung, WD, Hitachi.

Wrong reason to vote cold, the whole point is if this is the cheapest price? isn't it?

Yes thanks but were not allowed to post links to ebuyer at the moment.

good price. just 6 months ago, the £100 tag was for the 1tb drive (or was it 1 year?)

Please advise why posts are not allowed to ebuyer .... they have never let me down - used them for years and I recommend them.

No nothing wrong with them, just one of there staff were posting deals, which is not allowed. More info ]here

I recently changed my 500GB drive as it was driving me nuts, very very noisy even when idling.
When I took it out It was a Seagate Barracuda, 7200.10.
Bit the bullet and bought another Seagate Barracuda but this time it was a 7200.11 and the difference is amazing, very quiet.
Have since read that the 7200.10 were known to be very noisy compared to similar size and spec drives.

Amazon now out of stock but it is available from ebuyer ]here

I don't like ebuyer, they've messed me around on about 3 occasions and support was terrible! Just my experience mind, I'm sure they're lovely normally.

Also, Seagate no longer does a 5 year warranty on their drives, it's 3 years now.

Hmm, losing confidence in their products?

or tightening their belts in the current economic climate? who knows, but none of the other manufacturers offer more than 3 years so maybe they feel they've got the message across now and can go back to normal

My guess is Amazon will not be getting any more stock as wait time is 1-2 months and the 7200.12 1.5TB drive is due soon. So I don't expect the 1.5TB drives to drop below £100 again for a while.

What size?
