About this deal

This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

Seems a decent drive for CCTV system, not been this low since February this year.

It may be important to most. Just found out this is a SMR drive, seems it is replacing the previous CMR drive, ST4000VX007.

A surveillance HDD, i.e. intended for constant writes... which SMR is bad at... yet this drive is SMR? Yikes. No wonder hard drives are dying, when the manufacturers continue to foist this trash onto consumers.

It's looking likely that CMR will become 'Enterprise' sector, and SMR for consumer. So I guess it's a question of how much you're willing to pay for the privilege. I'm sure many will be happy enough with the price difference.

The web UI on my hikvision is rubbish and the thick client is a bit of a disaster. So, it lives under my TV for hdmi display, I put a 2tb SSD in it and a quiet fan as the noise was a real pain.

Well If you keep it on 24/7 it will generate a lot of heat lol

At some point I’m hoping to set up a humax hdr fox freeview recorder with the updated firmware so I’m looking for a 4tb hard drive to install! Would this be a suitable a hard drive? If not what would be recommended? Thanks in advance.
