This deal is interesting, not because it's the cheapest 2gb HDD out there ( 'cause it ain't ) and not because it does something other 2gb HDD's do ( 'cause it doesn't), Sure it's a top brand, reliable robust drive and you can't get it cheaper than this elsewhere right now....

BUT what makes it interesting is not the what but the WHO... A little bird told me that pricelover.com has been set up by the same chap that originally set up e-buyer... ( to be clear - this guy set up ebuyer made it great and sold it - they are not the same company) So with a name like "pricelover" and tonnes of stuff at really sharp prices i'm thinking i'll be looking here more often.

Before i forget the drive Specifications.....

Interesting OK, but surely if this isn't a cheap deal then it's not worth listing?

And it would be MORE interesting IF I could find out what drive is actually fitted in the case.

The two drives mentioned probably failed as the drive case isn't fan cooled.

Looks like one of the pricelover.com drones doing a bit of surreptitious advertising. :roll: Didn't Ebuyer get into trouble for this on HUKD a while back? You can't teach an old dog.............

not a pricelover drone myself, but was a little dubious about the company, but went ahead and placed an order yesterday, had a few issues but the emails back from them were very quick, seem like they are on the ball customer service wise... hopefully I'll get my stuff soon and I'll give them a good review somewhere.

Pricelover is run by Paul Cusack who ran Ebuyer when it was generally considered one of the worst online PC retailers, even worse than Dabs!. Strangely, since he sold it, their CS has improved substantially. Luckily, people have very short memories. :roll:

:shock::shock::shock::shock:
I'm not sure why you'd think i'm a drone... They are based in Sheffield and I'm in west Lancs ( that would be one mother flipper of a commute) Also I've never posted about pricelover before.. ( TBH I'd not even heard of them until last week when my account manager at Insight said he was leaving to go and work for them)

I understand that you need to keep a forum like this honest... and it's good that it's policed... But the shoot 1st and ask questions later type comment here will make me think twice about posting next time.

I buy a lot of IT KIT ... have done for a long time ... and i don't just buy from one place. ( and i don't always buy on price only) But price is important ( especially in today's climate) the point i was trying to make here was that if a new company could poach staff from a big company like insight and can sell mainstream branded items like a seagate hard drives nearly a tenner cheaper than all the established companies they must be worth keeping an eye on.
