When it comes to external HDDs especially portable its a hit and miss issue. Unless you are able to buy a buffalo.

Thanks op ordered for xbox one

I bought it yesterday for 59.99 from Amazon. Should I also get this one and then return the other or just ask Amazon to refund the difference?

Ask Amazon to refund the difference, they will honour it. I've done it before. No questions asked.

Hope this helps

Yes, 2.5"

Not bad for two 2TB.

This deal is misleading, this is for ONE 2tb drive, not two.

Also bear in mind that once you strip this out of the enclosure you lose your hard drive warranty,so if this fails you're screwed.

how do you get these emails, do you have to change your account settings?

This can be used for PS4 once the drive is removed from its enclosure. Here's a guide: eurogamer.net/art…2tb

Yes, stripping the drive from the enclosure may void the HDD's warranty, but... there's nothing to stop you putting it back in? Just be careful on opening the enclosure and it'll look as good as new.

It's perfect as is for Xbox One.

Which is longer:

This piece of string or that one....

Depends on what actual HDD is inside and as with any tech, it could last 10yrs or break tomorrow....this has a 'Samsung/Seagate Momentus Spinpoint ST2000LM003, rated at 5400rpm and featuring 32MB of cache' inside and 'usually' a slower spinspeed means longer life as less stress but it's too fussy to go into here but I like WD drives as have good fortune with them but each has their own preference and to be honest in over 20 yrs only had a couple of HDD fail on me so they are all actually quite reliable (Most times )

It worked fine, thanks!

Can you open it up and use it internally? Or is it cheaper to buy a 2TB internal directly?

Already posted

That link was originally posted at the old price, they've since updated it - without a new post like this, it would just get lost amongst older deals.

Is that a Seabrokegate drive

For anything in general then yes and one of the cheapest ways (Or was) to upgrade a PS4 to 2TB as the HDD on its own was £85....in July, when this was £59 then....but may have come down in price....just search for a Samsung/Seagate Momentus Spinpoint ST2000LM003, rated at 5400rpm and featuring 32MB of cache, as that is what is inside this.

Has as been mentioned though, take it out of the enclosure and no warranty so if that is important then standalone has a 2yr warranty.

sorry meant £48

Well I ordered mine and then had an email saying my account had been closed for violating their policies (I have no idea what I have done). I have been charged and then I had an email saying my order has been dispatched but the website will not let me log in as I have been banned.

I was always a big fan of Amazon but they've messed up here!

As others have said, just got on live chat to amazon and had £5 refunded from when i bought @ £59.99 last week. Already in my PS4 - 10 minute job, life saver as was nearly out of space on the 500GB drive.

Do you or anyone here know if you can take the original PS4 500GB hard drive and put it into the seagate enclosure and use that as a 500gb portable HD?

Great for Xbox One just plug into a USB port and go.

Worth noting that once you put your downloaded games on it you can also take the drive to any other Xbox One, sign in and then play the games instantly on that console.

It's not really 'each to their own' seagate have one of the highest fail rates in recent years with 2tb wd greens having the best. I would pay the extra tbh. Terrible drives, every single seagate I've bought has failed on me unfortunately:(

PS3 compatible?

Yes, as it will replace the PS4 HDD which is the same as the one in the original PS3....so much for Next Gen....:)
